Harper Hospital (Cori Center) Hospital

The floor I was on was full so I had to room with someone that had different surgery, she got to have food, while I didn't want to eat, the smell was tempting. My room was warm but not too hot.

My only problem was my room mate! she snored SOOOOOO loud i couldnt sleep! i asked to be moved but they didnt have anywhere to put me. so needless to say i didnt sleep much while i was there. But the nurses were very nice and always helpful to me, unlike garden city hosp where everyone was RUDE!

It was good nurses were great but overworked, it was hot and not as clean as it could have been but it was okay as far as hospitals go

Scheduling or should I say finding out when your surgery is scheduled is not very patient friendly. The scheduling area needs to take in to consideration patients who have other responsibilities (ex. elder care and child care needs). It's not easy taking care of these things when you don't know until the night before what time yo have to be at the hospital to prep for surgery. When the doctor's ofice tries to assist the scheduler at the hopsital had a fit. I was told to be at the hospital 2 hours before surgery but the hospital insisted on 3 hours. Vanessa was not real pleasant in this situation.

Additionaly, although the overall care was good, I did have some very attentive and compasionate nurses and aids but the response time was not good when I used the call button on a few occasions. At one time I had to wait at least 40-minutes for someone to assist when the compression socks started beeping at almost 11:00 at night. I was told that it was due to shift change but I had to call again before someone came to my room (at 11:40).

The nursing staff was great!! On discharge day my nurse was very concerned with my arms because my veins kept blowing out from the IV's. She instructed my husband on how to take care of me and even gave us her direct phone number in case he needed to call her when we got home.

The only complaint I have is that the nurses need to be trained on how to deal with wls patients..I had nurses that had no clue about the surgery !! This was a very noisey hospital too.

Pleasantly surprised...Nursing staff was excellent!

Everything was great except I am a tall man and they could use some longer beds for taller people.

I had great nurses and nurses aid but my friend onthe other hand didn't get so lucky and she was olny one room over

I WOULD LIKE TO THANK ALL THE NURSING STAFF AT HARPER. THEY WERE EXCELLENT TO ME AND MADE MY STAY MUCH EASIER.
