I was really impressed with the hospital and was very glad that I decided to have my procedure there.

The nurses were pretty rough @ Rush Memorial.. I'm not sure if I would have surgery there again.

I stayed in a private room. I was able to get the rest I needed as well as the help with whatever help I needed. The staff is excellent.

let me just say that in Chicago, there is one REALLY, REALLY outstanding hospital that is reminiscent of a FIVE STAR HOTEL. okay having said that then u have your good hospitals, your okay i would stay here if i really have to hospitals, and your there is no way on God's green earth that i would stay here i don't care what anyone says. trust me i know cuz i've just about worked in all of them. Rush is a 'good' hospital, it's a place where u don't mind staying cuz the accomadations are nice and the staff is competent. the only 'bad' thing that happened to me is when i went for my 'leak test' on the morning after surgery, the radiology technician thought she'd take it upon herself to comment about how she didn't understand why i had the surgery cuz afterall i was about the same size as she was. i knew i was already feeling my old self when i told her maybe i could help her set up a consultation and then i let out a guffaw! i was kind of scared after that cuz i couldn't move too good and if she would have punched me in one of my incisions i wouldn't have been able to do anything. but she had to laugh herself cuz she wasn't expecting that at all! yeah, i'm a smart alec!

The nursing and aide staff were fabulous. I know they were busy, but they never made me feel that I was bothering them, and gave me as much time as I needed. My room was very warm, and they even sent up an engineer to see if he could do anything to adjust the temperature beyond what the thermostat was able to do. Their personal approach was very much appreciated.

The nursing staff is wonderful. They will make you as comfortable as possible and go beyond that. They even rub cream on your feet just to pamper you a bit if you ask them to. The chaplin and vocational volunteers are ever so pleasant to assist you and keep you company if need be. Overall I enjoyed my stay at the hospital.

My Surgeon was terrific. As I said before the hospital was dirty and alot of the staff very rude and insensitve. I was in a great deal of pain and it took 5 hours to be given medication. Alot of other things happened that I wont take time to get into.
