Scottsdale Healthcare Shea Campus (COE) Hospital

Talk about the nurses from hell!!!!! Uncaring, rude, and generally more concerned about doing rounds than patient care (gotta do that paperwork) One Great ICU Nurse..Kathy and one Great room nurse JD...the rest were just horrid. One ICU nurse told my sister that I wasn't sick, I shouldn't even be there. Same nurse the iv had infiltrated my hand making it the size of a small football, When I showed it to her she got mad and said it was just fat. Then I had her compare it to the other hand and she reluctantly changed the iv. Another nurse, they had a bariatric bed that required assistance to get out of 3 hours later NO one knew how to make it work, I was so frustrated I just cried. I hope I never ever have to deal with those nurses again. One woke me up at 5am to tell me to walk. It was amazing.

the staff was giving ans prompt pleasant and accomidating to my size and the restrictions due to my size and the after effects of the surgery. They invited me back a number of times to show for them post weight loss and post plastics. enjoyed my stay in this hospital if you can say that about a stay in the hospital. I would highly recommend that hospital to individuals who live inside and outside the state.

I don't think that my complaints were heard. I remarked several times that my IV was very painful and my arm hurt. They repeatedly told me that someone would be along to check it. No one ever did and as a result, the IV had infiltrated and the fluids had been pumping directly into my arm and surrounding tissues. This created enormous problems when I needed medication for vomiting and dangerously high blood pressure.

The hospital is top-notch. Dr. Blackstones patients normally get the VIP Suites, which are very, very nice rooms. The nursing staff was great, rooms very comfortable. Definately one of the best I have seen. I did not have visitors, although my husband was there with me the entire time, the room had a couch/bed which he was pretty comfortable in.
