Sisters Hospital Hospital
Sister's Hospital has a wing set aside for the use of WLS patients, with the extra large wheel chairs, comfortable beds, over sized chairs for obesse patients. The nursing staff is dedicated to helping the obess surgery patient and many of the nurses have had the surgery so they know what the patient is going through.
I think that Sister's Hospital was good. However, I was surprised that more of the nurses and nurses aides were not more versed on gastric bypass. Three of the nurses were excellent and able to answer questions, but others were not familiar with the surgery and said this was not their regular floor. Also Sister's hospital makes you wear these pressure boots while sleeping to prevent blood clots. These boots were quite uncomfortable, and most nurses or aides did not know how to put them on properly. In fact on at least two occasions they were put on the wrong feet. I had to ask to have them reapplied on several occasions. Overall though the hospital did a good job.
the nurses were the best! they made sure that i was really comfortable. they seemed to be really concerned about you.
I had a very good experience at Sisters. The staff was very kind, well informed, and experienced. The hospital was CLEAN. Everyone was friendly from the head nurse to the housekeepers. My only complaint is about the bed and recliner. The bed i had SO hard that it was almost impossible to sleep in it for more than an hour. I would have been happy to sleep in the recliner but it was as hard as the bed, barely wide enough, and I had to use a LOT of force to push it back or bring it forward - OUCH!! Most of the rooms had the same recliner I had. Those recliners have to go and be replaced with new wide, comfortable, and easy to use ones.
