Southcrest Hospital Hospital

Becki the director of the Bariatric floor is a god send. She checks in with each patient daily and makes sure that the nursing staff is living up to their reputation as an excellent provider of bariatric surgery facility. The nurses were stupendous and very knowledgable in their field of expertise. They are not afraid to ask if there is any doubt they are doing the right thing as far as your care is concerned. All patients should be never be afraid to speak up about the care that they are recieving. If they know that something does not work for them, speak up. This staff listens and responds to your requests and dislikes as far as care is concerned. The only person I did not relate to was the dietician who did not show up in my room until the day before my release. I needed guidance before not later in the diet as far as how much and what I should eat on the tray. The day of my release she showed up again and was somewhat helpful but when we left from the hospital, she was at a quick stop getting cigarettes and fast food. I really thought a dietician is more health crazy but I guess everyone is human. Overall Southcrest is clean, very well maintained, and the bariatric staff is one of the best I have seen.

I liked it. I was put off by the pay your 'out of pocket' before surgery; felt this was 'money' grubbing; but seems its just the new 'rule' for majority of hospitals. which makes you wonder where people go for surgeries when they dont have any up front money. But generally the hospital is new, the staff not overworked and it was a nice stay

Allowed my family to be very involved including pre-op. My daughter, husband and pastor were all allowed in my pre-op room. The nurses were all very positive and friendly. Really liked my surgery nurse Mickey. He made things calm and made me feel more relaxed. My family was kept updated on progress during my surgery which shortened the wait for them!!

I truly believe Southcrest is a step above a lot of other hospitals. the only complaints I really had was them not getting my husband a place to sleep until I asked REPEATEDLY! They said they were out of cots and recliners, but overall everything else was great. I think they kept my pain meds a bit TOO pumped up! lol

My total experience with Southcrest Hospital has been absolutely wonderful. The care that I received was excellent. Every need was taken care of. My pain management was a top priority with them. They were kind, attentive, and cheerful. Medically, I responded to this type of care so much better. They were so kind and helpful that it made me want to do my part even more (get up and walk, walk, walk). They were also very helpful to my family since we lived out of town. They get an A+ rating from me in every way.
