Week 169 Post-Op

Feb 23, 2012

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to give a quick update, I've been so busy with everything, and managing the current weight loss challenge and keeping track of that is making me forget about my blog. I weighed in on Sunday at 271, so I was able to lose those unwanted pounds I gained during V-day weekend. The egg fast went surprisingly well. It was very manageable and easy to stick with. My band has been really well lately also, I haven't had a stuck episode since the last one I reported a few weeks ago so that's great. I think I'm just going to stick with this current fill level for awhile and see how far I can get with only the 1 cc. I have been doing really well with the water intake this week but slacking on the exercise. I have only exercised 1 day this week so far. So I'm hoping to work out tonight and tomorrow. We shall see what happens. I will update again next week. Thanks for reading.

Week 167 Post-Op

Feb 14, 2012

Hey Everyone,

So this past week was a bit disappointing for me. I did great all week with my food since I had a cold Monday-Thursday, and then Saturday was my V-day celebration with the boy so I enjoyed myself, the food I ate wasn't necessarily the problem it was most likely the alcohol consumption. I woke up and weighed in at 275 on Sunday, 1 pound heavier than last Sunday which I had already gained 3 lbs when I weighed in 274 lbs. Needless to say, I wasn't a happy girl on Sunday. No more alcohol for me anytime soon.

I only managed to workout Wednesday and Thursday since I was feeling yucky at the beginning of the week.

I really have to step it up this week. I worked out on Sunday, so my plan is to workout tonight and then Thursday.
I decided to start this week out doing a 3 day egg fast, I really need to bust through this stalling back and forth I have going on. I just really want to see the scale back down to the 250-260 range.
A really great NSV-I hadn't seen my sister in a few months and my mom I hadn't seen in a few weeks, I went to visit them on Sunday and they could really tell I was losing, so the exercising really does seem to be helping..so I have no excuse to not be doing it.
The weight loss challenge I'm running started on Monday, so I have a goal to lose 10 lbs during the 6 week challenge. I have 5 weeks left, I really hope I can push through and get these 10 lbs off. Sorry I was late updating..I will post again next week. Thanks for reading!

Week 166 post op

Feb 05, 2012

Hey Everyone,

I weighed in this morning, a bit dissapointed in myself this week. I weighed in at 274, not really sure how I gained 3 pounds. I stuck with my eating plan and thought I was doing really well, I guess maybe there were hidden carbs in some of the food. Ah, I don't know. It's just frustrating. I think it was a combination of things that caused me to gain so I really have to watch what I'm doing this week.
Now on to the good news, I took my measurements tonight, and I did lose around 6 1/2 inches. I can't seem to lose any inches in my hips and thighs, hopefully they will start working their way down. I know that is typically the last to start losing.

My goal this week is to stick with the my normal eating plan, no more than 20 net carbs per day. I'm going to try to stick with natural type foods, instead of making recipes. I seem to lose more when I eat more simple foods. I plan to workout at least 3 nights. My water was really slacking this week so I have to make sure I get that in. I'm going to start filling up 33 oz bottles and drinking at least 1 of those before I get into work and then another one through-out the day, that's over my 64 oz limit each day if I do that. I'm doing a weight loss challenge on the Lap band board, so I'm hoping that will keep me motivated and keep losing. Thanks for reading!

164/165 weeks post op

Jan 30, 2012

Hi OH Friends,

Week 164 post op
Somehow my blog from last Monday vanished, I guess I may have not saved correctly. I'm going include both weeks in the post. Last Monday 1/23 I weighed myself and was so excited to have weighed in at 271. That's a total of 26 lbs since I got back on track. I stuck with my eating plan, no more than 20 carbs a day. I did slack a bit on my water so my goal for last week was to make sure I got at least 64 oz of water a day. I managed to do that. My excercise wasn't that great, I only worked out Monday and then again Thursday, so I definitely need to make sure I stick with it this week.
Week 165 post op
I weighed in yesterday at 271 again, I'm hoping this doesn't end up being a plataeu point for me. My goal this week is to stick with the low carb again. I'm going to try to do a couple days with around 10 carbs to see how that goes.
I have been drinking water like crazy, I tried this water recipe I found online, and its so refreshing. Its a gallon of water, 1 cucumber sliced, 1 lemon sliced and a few mint leafs, let it sit in the fridge overnight and the next day it's great. It's so refreshing. I'm going to make this again, I have heard of people experimenting with other vegetables/fruits but I'm going to stick with this one for now.
My goal is to work out at least 3 days, no less but more if I feel up to it. I worked out yesterday so I already have 1 day down. I know I can do, I just have to get motivated. It's hard for me to get motivated to workout but once I start working out and finish I feel great.
I do plan on measuring again next weekend, that will be 1 month from when I measured last just to see my progress. I feel like I'm losing inches, my clothes seem to be fitting differently which is always good. Thanks for reading!

Week 163 post op

Jan 15, 2012

Hello OH,

I decided to go ahead and update this week with my losses, gains, issues I may have had, etc.
I have a gain and a loss to report this week, last weekend, I ended up cheating really bad, I weighed in on Monday morning and was a whopping 286 lbs, I couldn't beleive I gained that much in just a couple of days. I'm only weighing myself once a week now due to my somewhat scale addiction I mentioned in my last post, with my weigh in day being Sundays. I weighed myself today and was back to 278, which is what I was before the weekend gain, so I'm happy about that.
I stuck with my workout plan. I worked out, Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and then again today. I was too exhausted from work yesterday to workout so I made sure I worked myself a little more today. My plan this week is to workout Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and then again Sunday.
I have been doing a lot better with getting my water in. I have been drinking at least 64 ozs a day on average, sometimes more but never less. Mio has been a lifesaver. I add that to a couple glasses I have just to give it a little flavor, so I don't get bored with water.
I've been eating mainly high protein, low carb, I'm trying to stick with no more than 20 carbs per day. I have found that pre-planning and pre-cooking my meals has really helped. I've been sticking with 1/2-3/4 cup portions about 4-5 times a day. My restriction has been decent with only have 1 cc in my band right now. I had a little bit of a stuck episode on Wednesday, I decided to eat scrambled eggs that had been in the fridge for a few hours, they just didn't settle well after heating them up. Usually during a stuck epsiode I try to walk around with my hands up in the air and it will sometimes pass, but lately it just comes back up, so I try to avoid stuck episodes as much as possible. Well that's all I have so far for this week.

Update: Happy New Year

Jan 08, 2012

Hi Everyone,

So my last post I decided to have this year be a new beginning for me weight loss journey. I was really hoping I would be at goal by my 3 year bandiversary but unfortunately due to my lack of motivation and letting other things get in my way I didn't succeed. I decided to go ahead and take my measurements today before I worked out so I could know where I stand. I decided to quit weighing myself so often. I obsess over the scale number too much. I'm going to start exercising 3 times a week and work my way up from there. I don't want to set unrealistic goals for myself. I do have a gym membership which I have had for 6 years now but I'm going to work at home starting out, my hours at work aren't ideal for the gym right now. I'm feeling really motivated and ready for this. I hope to be at my goal by the end of this year, my currently set goal weight is 190-200 lbs. Thanks for reading. Measurements are posted below for my records.

Update-almost 37 months post op

Dec 30, 2011

Hello OH,

I haven't updated in almost a year, I had a rough 10 months, and had a lot of things happen in my life which caused me to put my weight loss on the back burner. I have a new doctor now, my original surgeon retired due to her having cancer and passed away a couple months ago, she was such a great doctor and really supported me and was proud I had lost so much with the band. The doctor I have now, is fresh out of med school but he has been great, he gets things done and really listens to me when I'm struggling or have questions. My 3 year bandiversary was on 12/1 and I coudn't help but feel disappointed. I really wanted to be at goal by now. I fell off the wagon really bad and ended up gaining around 25 pounds since the last time I posted. I had some issues with the band and was unfilled for a 6 weeks, the highest I got being unfill was 297, that's when I realized I had to get back on track. I have been working at it for almost 3 weeks now and am back down to 278 which puts me at 176 pounds lost , around 24 more pounds and I will be at my lowest I have been in my adult life which is 254. I had 1 cc put back in my band  a few weeks ago and I have to say I have pretty decent restriction. It so strange how the band works, during the first year I had to have almost 8 cc's in order to feel any restriction. I have been trying to become more active on the forums and trying to help people out. I'm going to update more often and keep everyone updated on my weight loss journey still. I have been watching a lot of youtube videos also. I wish I would have started vlogging. I always said I was going to but never did, I guess I just didn't have the self-confidence to post myself for the whole world to see.. I decided to get back to the basics and it really is helping. I'm motivated again and I know I can do this, and get these last 80 pounds off. I'm going to try to update weekly, and hopefully take some measurements, I know I have gained some inches since I last posted my measurements but this is a new beginning for me.
Thanks for reading.

Update..almost 20 months out

Jul 28, 2010

Hey everyone, so its been awhile since I last updated..Im almost 20 months out..I currently weigh 268 which brings me to a total weight loss so far of 186, I was at a stand still for a couple months there..going through the fill/unfill routine again. I had decent restriction with 5 ccs in and was doing great then all of sudden my band got extremely tight, I was having really bad acid reflux and the night cough that we all love so much..it was horrible..so I got unfilled completely..then got an xray to check the placement. the placement was fine, so my surgeon put 3 ccs in which wasnt anything at all so I ended up gaining 5 lbs so I went last week and got another cc put in so I am now down the 5 lbs! Its crazy how the band can work sometimes..as of right now my goal weight is 200 lbs, I'm thinking about possibly making it lower but I'm not sure yet, I'm still going to try to be at goal by my 2 year bandiversary so that means I need to lose a little more than 10 lbs a month which is completely doable but we shall see what happens..
Well thats all I have for now, Im going to try to get back into this again and keep it updated..pictures to come..goodnight everyone

13 months 2 weeks-post op

Jan 17, 2010

Hey everyone..so I haven't been on here lately..as soon as I started updating all the time I got super busy like always..so I have been doing pretty well. I've been super tired between work and school but I'm loving life right now at least for today..haha. I have finally started working out again..at home..I haven't felt like going to the gym  nor have I had time so I have been doing pilates..I love exercise tv on demand..I have been doing pilates leg and thigh slimmer about 3-4 times a week. as well as doing workouts with my exercise ball. I get on my stationary bike probably 1 day a week so far..I want to increase that but the pilates and the ball has been enough for me so far. I took my measurements tonight and I was in shock..I knew I had been losing inches but not that much..even though the last time I got them taken was in Sept but hey I'll take what I can get.  I will post those at the bottom. I have been doing pretty good with my eating lately. I hit a plateau for awhile after my unfill and refill so I did the 7 day soup diet..I only last 4 days since I hate tomatoes but I did lose 6 lbs so it got me out of my plateau I think I would have the same results with the plateau buster diet..I did that once and I think I lost 5 lbs in the 10 days so I'm happy with these results. It is mostly water weight but as long  as I don't eat very bad I won't gain it back. I have been kinda stressed lately. I have been having trouble sleeping as well. I wake up so tired even if I get 9 hours of sleep. So I'm going to see if my doctor can recommend anything..Thanks for reading.

12 months 2 weeks post op-Update

Dec 15, 2009

Hey everyone, I just wanted to give a quick update from my appt on Monday, I went to see my surgeon she put 5 cc's back in..I don't have much restriction with it but I can live with it until the end of next month..I hope.. My weigh in at the doctors office was 330 lbs so I gained about 15 lbs over the weekend..I didn't think that was possible but I was so dehydrated and everything from vomitting so I guess it makes some sense..I hope I can get those pounds off quickly but I doubt that will happen. I just feel like a failure at this point..Im pissed at myself.
I've been super exhausted. I don't know why..I would of thought after having 5 days off in a row I would have been well rested..wrong..My body has been really sore lately..I don't know if its from my mattress or what. Everytime I wake I feel like I have been ran over by a semi..seriously..my back pain seems to getting worse I've been taking pain pills for the longest time but it seems to being get worse so I may get an MRI to check that out..I figured my pain would become less intense after losing weight I guess I was wrong.
My day turned to shit when I found out that my FMLA from missing last Thursday and Friday most likely won't be approved..UNUM has been a hassle this time around. I called them on Thursday after being in the ER for 6 hours and the guy files a short term disability for me instead of FMLA..I told him at least 3 times that I needed FMLA not short term and now today they call me and say since I didn't notify them within 2 business days it won't be approved..I havent been having the best of luck lately..I already missed 2 days of pay so now I have to deal with getting another absent with work..Hopefully it all works out. Sorry I have a lot to say in this blog..
Another update coming soon..I'm starting to get more into this whole blogging thing. Thanks!
