Hi Natalia...Thank you so much for your offer. Where are you located? I'm in Columbus, OH, and I am looking for an angel who lives close enough that I can meet them in person if necessary. If you aren't close, though, that doesn't mean you couldn't be my long-distance angel. Heck, I'll take all the angels I can get! I figure I'll need them! How are you doing since your surgery? I do know of one person who gained all of her weight back, and would obviously not recommend it to anyone. Other than her, I don't know of anyone who hasn't said it wasn't worth it. I don't know anything about her support system - I have a feeling it wasn't good. She is a single mom of a disabled adult child. I believe she works in the mental health field. But I don't think she had much available in the way of family support. I don't know about friends or post-surgery support where she had her surgery done. Anyway, it's encouraging to me that I've heard so many say it's worth it. I have another friend who's had it done, and she's lost about 150 pounds 3 years out from surgery. I've known her since we were both 12, and while she wasn't obese when she was young, she has never been as thin as she is now. I am concerned about her because I understand she's started drinking a lot. She is divorcing her husband of twenty-four years. He is very ill with complications from diabetes. It's kind of a crazy situation, but this particular friend, much as I do love her, has always been an impulsive person. So she's done well with the weight loss, but I'm concerned that she may be turning to another substance. I've heard this isn't very uncommon for people who have had weight loss surgery. Kym

Its been 11 months. i had the RNY Gastric byepass on feb 1.2007 and i only lost 46lb. im so frustrated and depressed from this. i follow everything the dr. told me to do. i drink a gallon of water a day. i work out 6 days a week. an i told him i stay hungry, and i don't feel full at all after eating. i dont over eat , beacuse i measure my food intake. and still be hungry. my dr. prescribe me 2 months of diet pills. finally i drop 16 lb and thats all . that was 3 months ago. now i'm still at a stand still . im not loosing at all. is there any one else out here going threw what i am. i cant stop crying. the only thing what is good is that i dont have any dumping,and my hair is growing fast. from all the vitamins that i take. and that my skin is tight.

I to started the optifast today, and it taste horrid, I can't get it down, don't know what to do, I am going to starve to death. Kathy

I have Medicaid and am wondering what info they need regarding the 6 month diet. Do they need monthy weigh-ins or what? I started my diet November but didn't have my weight checked at the doctor in December, but I did see my PCP. Thanks!!
