I have been kind of iffy on the potato soup...I love it so I might have a small bit of it incase I am really mireable....I keep hearing people eating their "first" bite of instant mashed potatos , so I figured it cant be that bad in very tiny quanities.
I really feel your graduate pregnancy....my dearest friend started grad classes with me last summer and then found out she was preggers....I have felt horrible for her....but she is hanging in there like a real trouper...so, proud of her...and it makes me feel like I have nothing to complain about with WLS and grad school....
Thanks for your support,

I know my list for the hospital stay was a robe, slippers that grip, pillow for the ride home, and they would provide everything else if I needed it. The robe is for walking because their gowns didn't exactly close in the back, so they threw it over my shoulder on the side of my IV. But yeah cell phone charger a must, I was glad we brought mine, and lip balm. My lips are still dry from when I had surgery.

Yeah, I've peeked at other boards and they are pretty dead. I'm glad we have a place for support with positive people.

Yeah, I was pretty frustrated with my weight loss and now its flying off. I'm so excited now. It DOES get better.

Congrats!! I never had buyers remorse either! I think its because I knew what to expect. Plus I've had prior surgeries so knew how it would be.
I'm so glad you went well and can't believe you got out of the hospital so fast.
Good luck and it will fall off soon enough!

I see people say robe, but not sure how you would wear it with an iv. Logistically.
Most people try to limit carbs for max. weight loss so you might want to stay clear of the potato soup.
I never wear a gown but it was nice not to have a waistband those first couple days so I suggest at least one gown for the first day at least.
Also, I went through grad school through a very stressful time (found out I was preggo two weeks into it, had c section 9 months later, newborn for the next year) so I admire your determination. It WILL pay off. Let me know if you need any support. Good luck!!! So happy your journey is beginning!

Hi Char!
I actually feel better this morning...hurting just a bit. I took a naproxen and that made it feel better. The dosage is low and I liked that...funny because I had not taken any pain meds since I was there.
I also had the same problems with my main incision but after researching and reading about it, I found out that it's actually good for that one to drain as now that you are not as swollen, liquid is trying to find a way out so it comes out through your drain incision...mine was orangie and kind of oily...it only happened for about a day and then it slowed down...others refer to it as a process of healing...so I wouldn't worry about it unless you see it get infected. Remember our bodies heal from the inside out. I also still have a hard time sleeping on my side but I feel so much better when I put a pillow on my side and hug it.
I also lost 14 pounds the first week and slowed down the second week...that's also normal...our bodies are still trying to figure out what the heck we did to our bodies.
No, I didn't know about the Mommy special, do tell me please!
Liz
