What did your surgeon say? Hopefully he sent you for bloodwork!!!!!

And I know what you mean about a car ride with an attack! I was in terrible pain on the 15 minutes ride to the ER.....and then the wait there I was writhing in pain! Still took them like an hour to see me!

Here I am about to pass out and ther person who has a migraine gets in before me. Uhm, triage please?? (Sidenote - I am a LONG term sufferer of intense migraines. I know the pain, sensitivity, nausea associated. However - pancreatitis and migraines? Which is more important? The headache that will go away or the pancreatitis that can kill you?)

You still have fluids from the iv, also your body is focusing on repairing itself instead of burning fat. Don't worry, keep doing what you are doing and it will start. Personally I stay the same for a week, then drop 4-5 lbs. over and over for 4 weeks. lol

I wish i had an answer for you, but what I see the most on here is that it's just your body adjusting and healing. But it will start coming off again. Hang in there, I too get frustrated with what to me feels like slow weight loss.

this pain started out mild on friday and has increasingly become unbearable. my mom thinks it could be pancreatitis, too. if i sit still, i'm ok. if i try and walk or get up, i can't help but cry it hurts so bad.

my surgeon is 2 hours away. i am going to call him at 9am and hopefully he can order tests for me to do locally. i'm scared of what a 2 hour car ride will feel like.

When I had my actual gallbladder attacks - the pain lasted 5-6 hours and then I passed out (since I could breathe again!)

With my pancreatitis - it DIDN'T stop - hence me going in to L&D for the first, and the ER for the second. Well, with the ER, I KNEW what was going on and I had surgery scheduled a few weeks later anyhow.

BM might - but not likely. That would make pain all over, but it would be lower I think.

I'm in no way a doctor, but I'm leaning towards pancreas. I'd definitely call your PCP and tell them you want bloodwork done. They can put a STAT on it and get results fast. (Okay, a couple hours, but it's better than a few days!)

Topic: RE: Anyone having trouble with WATER???
water makes me sick, too.  the one item i found that is soooo good is Fuze.  you have to be careful to get the "diet" one.  i think they call it slenderize.  it has 20 calories and 2g of sugar per bottle (18.5 fl oz) .  i really enjoy the blueberry raspberry and it is soooo good when it is cold.  hmmmmm, i wonder if it would freeze in ice cube trays very well??

Topic: RE: 5 DPO Not sure how I feel ..
i feel your pain!  i had pretty extensive nose surgery a couple years ago and would do that a million times over again instead of RNY.  the pain was horrible, foods are disgusting, and even water makes me sick.  i am now 16 days post op and feeling a little tiny better.  yesterday was depressing and i wanted to sleep all day.  i hear it takes times, and honestly i do feel a little better.  we will get there!  i was driving past burger king today, which i am not even a fan of, and thought "man, if i didn't have this stupid surgery i could so stop and get something there".  i had lunch at my brother's for mother's day and say everyone eating steak, beans, and macaroni salad (i don't even like steak) and i found myself thinking "look at the amount they are eating and here i am with soup broth.  i want to just taste the macaroni salad or the cheesecake".  the odd thing is i cant even stomach food but the thought of being able to eat whatever and however much i want is haunting me!  i just keep telling myself it will get better!

Topic: RE: liquid multi from costco?
so love costco's return policy!! my husband and mom work there and i love shopping there.  i was admitted to the hospital shortly after my rny and they gave me liquid vitamins and i could not drink anything after taking it since i was NPO.  holy moly.....so disgusting they made me sick to my stomach.  take them back, they are nasty!!!  sorry i couldnt respond before you tried them!  check the labels on the other vitamins at costco before trying any.  i looked at the chewables sicne i have a few friends that take them and they are like 1/3 of what you need.  you would have to take like 9 to get the nutrition you need.  good luck in the search for new ones!
