Happy Easter to you too. I on purpose didn't buy much candy this year. I got my kids squirt guns and a little candy that will be gone fast. So there will be no upchucking for me. Karen

Topic: RE: Does anyone else have these feelings?
Stacy,
I had my surgery 10/29 and at that time I was 305 lbs. I am now 227...that's a loss of 78 pounds. When I go to see my doctor he tells me I am "behind the curve". I find that very depressing. Add to that the fact that he told me it may be because I am so much older than most of his patients (I'm 53) and I was ready to cry by the time I left his office. I have tried really hard to readjust my thinking and to know that anything I lose is a victory, but its been hard for me. What I am trying to do now is to set goals that I am going to attain fairly quickly so I can boost my morale. In three pounds I will be at my lightest weight 32 years! I intend to celebrate that! Then I will set my goal at being under 200 (one that hasnt' seemed attainable in 1/4 of a century!!) I am hoping that those things will help me feel better about things.
In the meantime, please be happy that you have lost 87! There are those of us who would be happy to have that

any s/f chocolate will give you the "runs" if you eat too much at one time. I love the Russell Stover peppermint patties, but limit myself to one and not every day. Russell Stover also has jelly beans flavored like the "jelly bellies" and they are really good. I have to be careful that I dont eat too many of them. I make a really good dessert with s/f angel food cake crumbled then top with a mixture of jello, cool whip ,cream cheese and 2 TBs of lemon juice. This really takes care of my sweet tooth. Also Murray cookies are pretty good and they are sugar-free. Since the beginning I have been drinking s/f hot chocolate with a scoop of protein in it, so I really did not have that choc. craving.

I have had another wonderful month... I started the WLS journey on 10-13-03 at 233 @ 5'1". I am down to 159 today and a total of 74 pounds gone. I wear a size 12 in pants and a large top. I feel great! I can eat ANYTHING that i want except for the high sugar and high fat stuff... I dump on it... go me!
I just came back from Dalton, GA where I accomplished a huge goal... I climbed a MOUNTAIN! A real big one... from the base to the top... the Apalacian Trail runs across the range top so I was able to "hike" it for a few miles before we trecked back down to sea level. What a mind altering adventure. I never dreamed i would be able to do this prior to WLS. I was just worried about getting out of bed and to the bathroom without pain. Life is so worth the WLS choice...

Yes, I have also tried sugar free and fat free ice cream --tasted great--but gave me terrible gas pain!! Russle Stover and Hershey both have some good sugar free chocolate out on the market--but --when I do eat this I limit myself to one piece--more and I get sick to my stomach---but it does take care of my sweet tooth.

Everyone is doing so great!!! I am down 81 lbs since my revision on 10/23 for a grand total of -167 lbs from my highest. That just doesn't seem real. I have done a 5k and my new goal is to get ready for the Danskin Triathalon in June. I started this leg (10/23) at a size 30-32 stretch and now I'm a comfortable 20 (no stretch). My goal is 149 or a size 12, whichever comes first!

Hi Catherine:
I eat sugar-free popsicles and ice cream almost everyday. I have eatten the sf candy by Russell Stover, it is really good. The only thing is it gives me terrible gas.
I mean horrible. I told my Dr. about it, and she said that I needed to be careful eatting any sf candy that was sweetened with anything ending in "ol". She said it has a laxative base. Just don't eat much at one time and it probably won't affect you. I know if I eat more than 2 Russell Stover's peppermint patties they tear my stomach up bad. I hope you do better with your candy, than I did with mine.
Well, enjoy your weekend, and Happy Easter!!!

Happy Easter to all of you! I'm struggling a little bit with the Easter Holiday due to all of the Easter candy out there and my feelings about it. It's not as though I'm craving any one thing, but I have been thinking about it. This is new for me post-op! Prior to surgery I thought I'd be miserable after my wls... always craving sweets and lots of food. I was so happy to find that was NOT true! I am satisfied with the amounts I eat, and so far I haven't been interested in much else other than good, nutritious food. Until now. I just bought (today) some expensive European sugar-free chocolate. I want to try to re-introduce sweets into my post-op diet. I'm a little scared. I'm afraid I'll like them too much, or it'll lead to cravings or a mini-binge or something. How about all of you? Do you eat sugar-free sweets? As snacks? As part of a meal?
