Had my rny on Nov. 8th at St. Vincent's. I would recommend it highly. I was a self pay and from the very first consultation , billing, financial dept., to the upper GI and  medical tests exemplary. Then on to the day of surgery, the nurses, doctors, etc. Absolutely wonderful experience. They are all so kind and so organized, they treat you with such dignity and kindness. They are ever attentive to whatever questions or needs you have. Pain medication given timely and they allow you to determine the dosage, they ask you what your pain level is 1-10, ten being the worst pain and they alter you dosage accordingly . I was never higher than a 5, usually 2 or 3. I just cannot say enough good things about them, I had a wonderful experience, and would not recommend any other place to have bariatric surgery, maybe any surgery, I have had 2 c sections, ligation, and complete hysterectomy and this was by far the best surgical experience I have ever had. You'll be in good hands there. I did not have Dr Evanson, I had Dr. Brenda Cacucci, love her, however a friend of mine from Church had Dr Evanson, and she is doing great and really likes him. Congrats on your surgery date, We'll be keeping you in prayer. Hope this post helps calm some of your nerves.

YOu should apply for disability medicaid. Medicare WILL pay for your surgery. They pay for all surgery types as long as one doctor says it's medically necessary! But diffently try to get the disability medicaid so that covers the portions medicare doesn't.

Congrats on your date! It will be a new beginning for you. Hang in there as the day draws closer and the "nerves" kick in. It will be the best decision of your life!

I am so happy I finally got the call today from Clarion saying I was approved by Medicaid to have RNY gastric bypass. I was so worried since they "misplaced" 5 years of my medical records I had given to them & was almost positive I was going to be denied for lack of info, but they submitted it on Dec 2nd & approved today Dec 29th! I already have another appt on Jan 19th & am just waiting for them to call again to schedule my pre-op testing & class & surgery! Woohoo! 

I would really like to have weight surgery but I only have medicare. I'm 45 and have social security because of bladder problems $400.00 month. I'm 5"  275 lbs. Does anyone know if I could get medicaid too, I know medicare does'nt pay all, some people have medicare and medicaid. Do you think I should call medicare and ask them if they can pay all since I'm low income? I really don't know what to do. Any advise would help. Thanks
