Show up Saturday for the clothing exchange!  Read down below.  Hope to see you there!

I am only one, But still, I am one.  I cannot do everything, but still I can do something.  And because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do
the something that I can do.

I confess I am addicted to buying cloths I LOVE to shop for Nice stuff..I was always looking for good deals on plus sz but rarely finding a break plus size are so expensive. When I began to lose weight I got so excited I went crazy and would shop till I dropped--I justified it by thinking I was helping the economy stay afloat! Often I didn't even get to wear things more than once some not at ALL! There is a rush trying on a new size..Now I have TOO much stuff that I can't wear-I have given a lot away but decided to sale (cheap) all my gently used size 18-26 casual, work, and even evening, wear-For prices I wish I could have gotten--Makes me excited to think of helping others get a good deal below store, ebay, thrift etc, I will not be advertising in the papers-costs too much..SO hoping word of mouth will work. My goal is to free up space and be able to head back to start my crazy cycle again with the next size down. LOVE my surgery!

LOL,... I've not seen her, but I wouldn't take the psychiatrist as a representation of the whole program. I have heard from lots of people who thought Dr. Stote at St. V was kind of an odd duck, and they still liked the program overall. I think psychiatrists are just a different kind of breed entirely.

Has anyone else gone through Community for their surgery? I've had two visits (one left) with the dietitian and psychiatrist and haven't been too impressed with the psychiatrist.

The first time I met her was at their south location which is an office the only use once a week. She was a little stand offish, but I figured that was just my nerves and skewed perception of things. Well, last week I saw her in "her" office at Comm. North. She spent more time looking at her computer screen than at me. I assume she was typing in what I was saying, but...I don't know...she's a psychiatrist, shouldn't she be focusing on me not making her job easier by not having to transcribe notes to her computer later?

Her last question (while still looking at her computer...and I'm only assuming she's writing notes about our session) was, "Is there anything else you need help with?" Well, yeah, lady, so far you've chided me for drinking coffee (though I've cut back) and still snacking (even though they are sugar free, healthy foods). She didn't even bother to ask what i was snacking on.

Wow, this has turned into a rant.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has met Dr. Mary and what their opinion was of her.

Topic: RE: Meridian Surgical Group/ St Vincent's Carmel
I finally got my surgery scheduled for Sept 16th.  I am waiting for a call back from St Vincents to scedule my nutrition class and pre op testing.  Apparantly, the Dr is going to do my H&P on the day of surgery.

St Vincents wasnt very helpful besides telling me that if I chose another surgeon I would just have to go through the entire process again.  I was going to do it if I did not have a date by today.

I hope the rest of the process goes smoothly.

If you are self pay, NEGOTIATE!!!!! Don't take the sticker price, any more than you would on a car. Ask about discounts, make offers. It's well worth the time.

I had my surgery with Dr. Gupta when she was still with Carmel Surgical Specialists.  She's since left, as has Dr. Caccuci - I think Dr. Rosemarie Jones is the only one left.  I never had any issues with their office, but I've been less than impressed with Meridian group since Caccuci moved there.  My insurance was through St. Vincent's at the time of my surgery, and I found the Carmel Surgical Specialists office easy to work with.
