Topic: Holiday World
How do we get tickets for Holiday World?  I know it is July 24 but I am a planner and need to know.  Also, when and where are we going to be meeting up?  Any information would be great.  Thanks.

Topic: Walking WOW

After my RNY in January I got a treadmill and was doing pretty good.  I would walk about 1-2 miles a day.  Then in early May I had my gall bladder out, over did it in the first week and stopped walking.  I got lazy and never picked it back up again.  This weekend was the Morgan Co Relay for Life at the Fair Grounds.  My church, St Martin of Tours, had a booth set up but no walkers.  I decided to get involved, then all my daughters and granddaughters got involved too.  We had a great time for a great cause.  I walked over 7 miles in one day!  I feel wonderful.     I am a bit sore today, but ready to walk again.

I am only one, But still, I am one.  I cannot do everything, but still I can do something.  And because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do
the something that I can do.

Thanks Jen,  that makes me feel alot better.  I know I am going to have to get real serious about taking vitamins.  I am horrible at it now, but doesn't matter as much with the band.  Someone else I know who had RnY told me she takes Biotin.  Says it helps with hair loss.  But glad to hear that after several years out, you are able to maintain.

Thanks again.

Topic: RE: scale vs clothing size
I'm with you.  I'll be 53 on Wednesday and the smallest size I remember wearing was size 11 pants when I weighed 128 in college.  (I always had to get size 11 for the hip size and have the waist taken in.)  Well, I'm not going to think about the vanity sizing thing.  I'm just going to rejoice as I get in smaller sizes than I have worn since my children (five of them who are grown now) were born.  I'm 5'3.5" and am hoping to get around 135 although 140 would be nice.  I'm afraid when I get closer, my family will say the same thing... that I don't need to lose that much.  My husband is already complaining about the BMI charts when I tell him I want to be in the "normal" range and not overweight.  I didn't go through all of this to still be "overweight"!    I guess I'd like to be a size 4 or 6 too.  I'm thinking that is about what used to be a 10 or 12 years ago.

Topic: RE: scale vs clothing size
I know the clothing industry has this thing called vanity sizing. I think it was designed for the supermodels that wanted to wear size 0. I presently have a goal to wear a size 4 in everything. I have gotten to between 135-140 most all time and am 5 ft 51/2 inches tall. My husband said he does not want me losing any more weight. I can't get past the numbers thing either on the scale or in the clothes. I know I should just be happy that I am now much healthier and can do things I never thought possible at age 58!!!!  The last time I wore a size 4 clothes was when I as a toddler. I was always overweight wearing a size 18 in high school. I have some size 4's now and at times I try on a size 4 and they just don't fit right, too big in areas and too small in other spots. Most of my clothes are size 6 though

But on a good note, walking is deemed the best exercise. You work a lot of muscles just walking (legs, butt, stomach, and if you use the other arm you could swing it and get in some arm and shoulder muscle group) and and you could speed walk and really burn those extra calories!!! Because at the end of the day it is all about calories consumed versus calories burned.

Topic: RE: Clothing Exchange anyone?
I would love to have a get together but I don't think it is going to be possible until OH MAYBE the third MONDAY OF SOME FUTURE week. I have just been catching myself coming and going and not much time for sleep in between. I am so looking forward to the OH event in Cincinnati because it will be time away from all the hustle and bustle going on in my world at the present time. I thought if only I could get through May then it would be better but guess what NOW it's June and it doesn't look much better. Maybe after June 26 it will be slightly better. I have been announcing ball games and my husband has been umpiring so we can earn some money to go on vacation with. Needless to say we have a little nest egg envelope and it is now growing some so vacation is about 1/2 paid for so it is working but I have not had any free time except for days like today when we got literally RAINED out. So these games will need made up on another day to cram into my schedule. OH Well enough whining I asked to have the job and now I need to suck it up and live through it.  One of the coaches today said a funny to a kid on his team that I thought was CUTE  " Suck it up buttercup" sounded fitting to what was going on with me.

Topic: RE: Clothing Exchange anyone?
HI Tracy---I would love to have a clothing exchange as I have clothes all ready to bring.  The only thing is I have no idea where Marion even is at.  I have a feeling it is way north of Indy?

I miss everyone and would love to get together.  I thought the Holiday World day was going to work but just found out I cannot go on that date now so I won't see everyone there either.  But the good news is---------my friend from MI that I used to work with called and asked if I would go with her and her Mom on the Christian Cruise for a 7 day Alaskan cruise July 23-30.  Her Mom is 78 and mine is 74 so I am taking my Mom too and we are going.  I am so excited.  And the price was awesome, really inexpensive.  So I guess I will take the grandkids to Holiday World another day.

Let me know what you decide.  Thanks

Miss you,  Terry

Topic: RE: TT done
It's been 12 days since mine and I would do it all again so that says a lot there.  Dr Huse is my Dr too and I had Dr Bergman for the plastics.  I love her.  To be honest I don't remember a whole lot about the first couple of days between the anesthesic and the pain pills.  After that though there is pain but bearable.  I live alone and never had to have anyone be with me or anything.  Can't lift over 10 pounds so grandkids take out the trash and etc when they come over.

I still have some swelling which is common and my drain is still in but I expect it to be out in a few days.  Just taking Tylenol for discomfort.  I am a home health care RN and plan to go back to work on Monday which will be 2 weeks exactly from the surgery date.

My tummy looks great---never thought it would ever look like that, in fact I don't think it ever looked that good.  I had a real problem with justifying that I should do it thinking that since my husband had died no one else would see it anyway and why should I do it just for me but I am so glad I did.  And I am glad that I used the CareCredit plan and went ahead and had the full abdominoplasty with lipo instead of just the panni.  Most of my weight I carried in my stomach and the muffin top roll was something I hated so she thought just the panni wouldn't take care of that.

I still weigh around 180 - 185 so need to lose a few more but I was in a size 12 jeans and small in scrub  pants  so I am so happy and maybe I can get another 20 # off.  I am anxious to see what size I will be after the swelling goes down.  Seems like it is hard to lose now and I will be honest that since Lyn died I gained 5-10# just from eating wrong.  I also hate cooking for 1 so I have been in this bad habit of eating out and going thru the drive thru while working which I need to change.

Let me know if you have anymore questions.
