Hello LaDonna! So sorry you are having so many issues.
I am not a medical professional but I can tell you that my stomach doesn't like fast food, fried foods, or heavily processed foods. It also doesn't like anything microwaved. Also I have to really take my time and CHEW food to help it stay down in my stomach. The idea of quick eating doesn't work for me unless it's something in liquid form.
I would consider maybe trying some new foods and trying to Foods that will stay down.
are you working with a nutritionist?

Thanks for replying but I wasn't asking about anything related to cost or the procedure. My last paragraph contained questions related to the experience after having it removed. But thanks for engaging anyways:)
I think if you are willing to pay out of pocket for the band to be removed, that is what you may have to do if the insurance company does not see a reason to remove it, it won't be approved. You may also have to find a bariatric surgeon AND a plastic surgeon who are willing to work with each other for the joint effort.
Hello,
I had success from the Band, only due to amount I had to throw up. How to keep from getting food stuck? No matter what I do, it seems to get stuck. I can never eat breakfast, as my physicians states, your stomach has shrink. So I tried a little something a little later in the day, and yes, there are times it still gets stuck. Most of the time I don't get to eat late evening, at that point I am so hungry and just eat; however, nothing is getting stuck at that point.
I am ready to have him remove some of the fluid, though I just started back getting fills. My physician at one time removed all the fluid as it become more and more difficult to eat anything. I was able to maintain for while, before gaining any weight back. Once I started gaining I went back for more fills. I'm at my 3rd fill and back to having to vomit. It's so frustrating; I want to feel full not stuck.
Any suggestions you can pass on, would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
LaDonna R
Hi Kathi,
Just ran across your message; I also had the Lap Band surgery in 2015, and I am so ready to take it out. I lost over 60lbs, which in nice. However, I think is was mostly due to having to throw up. At one time I had him take all the fluid out, I couldn't take it anymore, so of course I gained some of my weight back. I did maintain for awhile before gaining any weight. I went back and had him gradually fill the port, and I am back at the point of throwing up. Just when I think I have figured out how to manage this band, food starts to get stuck. And don't even think about having breakfast. I am at the point that can only eat after hours, or if I drink a really sweet soda or juice.
I am either going to have it removed or have him drain the port, it so frustrating. Going out to dinner and not knowing if you will be able to eat, while everyone else is enjoying there meal. On some occasions, I have has episodes of getting something struck and having to run back and forth to the bathroom to throw up!
Were you successful in getting the Sleeve, how it working out for you?
Continued success on your weight loss!

Hello All!
This summer will be my 13th? Bandiversary. My max weight was 250. My lowest weight was about 130. My favorite weight with muscle is about 140. I had MAYBE one fill that first year but haven't had any complaints with my band. I feel like I used as it was meant to be used... a tool to gain new habits and awareness about my relationship with food.
My opinion on having foreign objects in my body has changed significantly. I am hoping to have plastics this summer and really want to have the band removed at the same time.
Has anyone removed their band just because they wanted to? If so, weight gain? Mental change? Tell me about your experience. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
Hi everyone , after ten years of on on again off again troubles with my band I have finally made the decision to have it removed. It seems I?ve never had entered period of time without severe blockages even with soft foods , following the guidelines for chewing etc . I could eat a food on one occasion. And be fine qnd the very tone be blocked with the same thing. Being blocked with foods like oats etc . This has been an ongoing issue where I?d be ok for a good hike and the issue would return . I also had a very significant slip which required surgical repair several years back.
in a few weeks I?m booked to have the band out but it seems the vast majority of information I read is either from those who had revision surgery or others who said they regained the weight . I did lose weight over the years but it?s been up and down.
I am wondering are there people who have managed to keep weight down after having the band removed without revisional surgery. Also I?m extremely nervous about this surgery for some reason . I think the length of time the bands been in there and my horrible experience with it . Also reading lots of story?s about stomachs being cut during the removal procedure .
my dr and I have agreed that we will review where I?m at down the track re revision options ie sleeve or bypass but I?m hoping to gain a realistic perspective on people experiences and what my odds are if I?m following a healthy diet am I still going to regain weight simply because I?m with out the band . And also re the surgery . Thanks
if keeping your weight off pre band didn?t work why do you think keeping your weight off post band will work?
If you don't have any fill in your band it may be easier but you may also find eating without restriction to be too much to handle. I knew myself enough to know I could not, would not be able to go it alone. With that I decided that when my band had to come out I revised to sleeve.
With that being said, I think you can safely evaluate later on. Do not be pressured either way. It is your body and your journey. Good luck to you.
I'm in a very similar situation. First time I've logged on in many years. Got my band almost 14 years ago. Went from 350 to 180. Tooj all my fill out about 6 years ago because I was having bad reflux. I slowly crept back up to 285. Last June I started keto and about 4 months ago I started incorporating intermittent fasting. Weight 207 this morning. Trying to get to 190. I don't regret getting the band, but I'm certainly not the proponent I was years ago.
