So, I went to the gym today ...
... for the first time since before surgery. I've been doing stuff around the house and neighbourhood, but this was my first trip back to the gym since June.
I did 30 minutes on the treadmill (total distance approx 1.2km), then about 30 minutes on the various machines. Had a WOW! moment on one machine. You sit down and place your arms/hands on the flat surface that starts equal to your shoulders. You push down past your hips. I've never been able to use this machine because my hips were too wide to let the machine go all the way down. Today, it did! I was so happy!!
I also tried to weigh myself there. They have one of those sliding weight scales (like at the doctor's office). I stepped on and attempted to use it, but the darn thing wouldn't balance. I stepped off, grumbled about it being broken, and as I walked away suddenly realized ... I was trying to set it for my old weight!! No wonder the thing wouldn't balance!
After getting home and showering, I sat down for lunch. Then tried to get up. Man, are my thighs and butt sore!! I think I aggrevated my sciatic - I'll find out tomorrow at the chiro appt. But it was well worth it. If I can, I'll go back tomorrow and Thursday.
AND ... I broke 50 lbs lost!! What a great day!!

So happy to hear that you you went to the gym and got to use a machine that you could not do before. It is an amazing feeling to do things that you could not do before and I know you will get stronger in the gym. LOL about the scale only because the first time I used those darn scales i did the same thing. Just remember to stretch afterwords

Fantastic Beth! Pretty funny about the scale too. Good for you and keep it up!
I forced myself to go for a walk after work tonight and as hard as it was on my body, it felt good too and I came home in a much better mood. If I hadn't gone out walking I would have missed a beautiful late summer sky.
