Topic: RE: Severe pain on both sides of abdomen

I've been dealing with a similar situation since 9 months post op (December 2017) I've been in & out of the ER multiple times. My pain is located in my upper right abdomen and the pain shoots into my back. At times I can manage the pain with a T3 & a gravol, but have to go to the ER when the pain is so bad I can't keep any pain meds down. I've had 5 ultrasounds/ nuclear biliary scan and this week I had a CT, all with 0 findings. I go next Tuesday for exploratory surgery to figure out what's going on. My first few visits the ER doctor said it was classic gall bladder pain, but with each ultrasound & bloodwork showed no signs of stones or disease. After a year or so I decided to contact my bariatric surgeon to see if he could help me. He's been amazing & has taken my pain seriously. I hope he finds the cause of my pain.

I hope you get some answers, maybe skip your family doctor & see if you can see your bariatric surgeon. Wishing you the best, Sonja

Topic: RE: Veterans: How do you keep it off and avoid regain?

My suggestions would be to make yourself accountable, track and plan your food, set yourself a regain limit. Maintenance is hard and a daily struggle. Remember where you were when you started this journey and promise yourself you will not give in and undo all of your hard fought accomplishments.

You're doing great Sunny. Pedal to the metal until you reach goal.

Had my 6 month appointment - seems I'm doing well according to their expectations - down 90 pounds and staying on track. Still struggling to meet my protein goal without resorting to protein shake/bar - maybe small goal of trying to only need 1/2 of either and then get to none...we will see (I just hate reading the ingredients on these things!); I just can't make everything I eat a protein choice, not willing to give up some fruit or carb. Maybe I'll try every other day carb free or something like that...ideas?

Question - what recipe do you use for Cabbage Roll Soup? I love cabbage rolls (indulged in 2 over Easter Weekend as I'm 1/2 Ukrainian)

My food for today:

B: PC Protein pancakes with sugar free jam

S: sugar free yogurt

L: coleslaw with 1/2 cup diced roast chicken & small orange

S: sugar free pudding

D: 1/2 Protein wrap with 1/2 cup diced roast chicken/mayo/lettuce

S: Protein Shake

Enjoyed 3 walks today - goal to use my 1/2 lunch as a walking break and then can eat as I work - since I still take 1/2 hour to eat a meal.

Anyhow, feel positive and optimistic I will meet my goal weight by 1 year mark!

Sunny

Topic: RE: What are you eating/doing today - Wednesday?

Hello! I am going to try to get back on to the daily food threads again, it's been so long! Typical day today, kids off to school, rush in to the office, work work work, rush home, and hopefully some good family time before crashing into bed :) Last night I went to the Cher concert here in Ottawa, and I am a little tuckered out from that :)

QOTD: I love birdsong. I do have a funny memory when I was a kid, summer after summer a bird would stay somewhere outside my house, and he had a funny song that sounded EXACTLY like he was repeating my 2 syllable name over and over. And over. AND OVER. I used to get so annoyed (but also loved it).

B: Protein bar which I hate and never have but we need groceries and I was desperate :)

L: chicken drumsticks with the skin yanked off (yuk, am I the only one who's grossed up by chicken skin texture?) and grilled mixed veggies

D: not sure yet. We have a lot of leftovers, maybe some kind of steak and grilled veggie (sandwich for family, bowl for me).

S: some icelandic yoghurt and sugarless jam I think. Or a Skyr 'icecream' bar.

Exercise: Got a new bike, might cautiously take it for a quick spin tonight

Goddess in training...
