Good afternoon :)
Not much happening today. Just stuff around the house. Gave the little nugget toast with peanut butter and she threw it all on the floor. The dogs loved that lol.
QOTD: I love birds -- outside ones. Birdsong is nice. We don't have many birds around here. When puppy 1 was little she somehow got ahold of a bird in our yard. I had to rescue it and put it up in a tree where it was safe. I like to believe that it survived and flew away.
Post-op four years and one month.

It certainly does. I will visit my doctor and be on top of this. Thanks for planting the seed :)

Good morning all. Glad to see everyone back after a nice few days off. Now lots of catch up at work so I'm keeping this brief!
QOTD: I'd say I enjoy most birdsong but I have cursed at 5 a.m. on a Saturday when they chirped non-stop outside my window. My pair of cardinals is back this year and the male continues to bash his head off my picture window.... last year he hit one so hard it cracked so I'll be replacing that one sometime this summer.
B - greek yogurt
S - egg bite
L - 2 chicken skewers
S - 1/2 protein shake
D - shrimp, broccoli, mushroom stir-fry

Good morning! Back in the saddle at the gym this morning just over 15 sweaty kms. Felt good! Not too much on the go today - long boring day again I suppose.
QOTD: Yes I don't mind the outdoor birds singing. We had a ****atoo when I was younger. When I was in college the minute I crested the top of the stairs it would start singing and talking to me. Drove me crazy but my dad thought it was the funniest thing. I would give anything for that again. He passed away 14 years ago yesterday (my dad, not the bird).
B - leftover pot roast (I love smelling up the office)
S - skyr (maybe get around to finally eating it)
L - cobb/chef salad
S - cheese stick, roast chicken
D - not sure - there is tons of leftovers in the fridge
Have a great day.

Good morning Menu Mates. We decided to not go out last night because DH and I were feeling tired. Today I have meetings, and some more errands to get done.
QOTD: Do you like birdsong, or do the birds drive you crazy? I like their birdsong, DH throws the pillow over his head and grumbles.

Because I am diabetic (well controlled with diet and exercise in the normal range) I have my bloodwork done every 3 months. My GP signs the requisition for blood, checks off the tests he wants and tells me to fill in whatever my Bariatric Clinic wants. I add a few that the forum recommends. Talk to your GP about your symptoms and ask if you can have your bloodwork done more frequently, and tell them about trying to keep on top of vitamin and mineral deficiencies before they become a real problem. Hope this helps.

The last time I had my bloodwork was in October at my 1 year check up. When are we supposed to go in next? 18 months? 2 years? I'm at Humber River. How often do you get it done? What's the recommendation? Darn. I should be on top of this.

How often are you getting blood work?
If you overate, take frequent very very tiny sips of water to try to flush some of the excess food out of your pouch. That can be very painful. Also try laying on your side, which may help. Sitting up may be too much pressure on the pouch.

Join us anytime Lexxi. Before BirdieGirl, KarenM posted, as did PatM, Tonya. I learned so much from these wonderful vets who so generously and gently guided me on the straight and narrow. Well, as much as they could. I do have a wild side.
I am one of the posters that never told family or friends about my surgery, so having a place to talk with others about my concerns, questions, *****fests, is very welcome for me. I try not to be judgmental, I preach my experience, and try to encourage. We are all in this for a better life. It's better to help than hinder.

I've posted about memory loss and someone mentioned not to trust the docs so... I doubled my multivitamin. I'm taking 2 Materna a day and I feel soooooo much better. However, today I doubled my calories and had a crazy binge. So much so that I had sharp pains in my sides. So yes, the title is deceiving but bloody hell I am SCREWEDDDDDDD.
