Hi Everyone,
I wanted to update to let you know that I have finally been approved for the panniculectomy, and upgraded to an abdominoplasty.
My surgeon will be Dr. Michael Kriedstein in Toronto, and I can't say enough about him, and his office. They were positive and supportive and advocated for me until OHIP approved.
I'd also like to say thank you to everyone here that offered advice and words of wisdom. I appreciate every bit of it.

Good afternoon :
Thanks for the review Ginnny ;) sounds like a more interesting way to get some exercise. I shoveled snow today and that just about killed me.
I also went to see a counselor and dietitian and they are going to give me some ideas for snacks and meals to start getting back on track more to where I want to be.
Tonight we are going to look at another house... This one needs less work than the last one and is closer to my family. It is also near a river which makes me a bit nervous.
Post-op three years and ten months.
Breakfast - protein bar
Snack - mixed nuts
Lunch - sausage and quinoa
Snack - Greek yogurt and blueberries
Dinner - sausage and quinoa leftovers
Snack - pudding
All water and vits.
I've been to orientation three different times. The first was in Hamilton and they changed me to Guelph, so I had to do a second one at Guelph. I progressed until the appointments with the nutritionist, then I had to quit the process. I gathered up my energy and went to an orientation in Hamilton again and again quit the process when I had appointments with the nutritionist.
My problem is that I have anxiety. It's mostly social anxiety but it's preventing me from proceeding with this procedure that I know I really want. I feel panicky driving to Hamilton and Guelph from London area (normally drives are OK for me). I took someone with me the first time through and it didn't help.
Any suggestions or encouragement to get me over this mental hump to get to the losers bench?
Thanks.
I was having smoothies regularly in the morning, till one day, I was using 3 large tablespoons of plain greek yogurt, 4 oz. Ocean Spray Diet juice (10 cal / cup**** and about 1/2 cup of mixed berries. One day there were a few more berries left so I just added them in.
I was drinking on my way to work and about 5 minutes after I finished started getting tummy cramps, the shakes, was on a country road so had to drive a few miles for a safe place to pull over, luckily dumping doesn't give me bowel issues, I sat on the side of the road for a few minutes till I started to feel better, even had someone pull over to see if I was okay...
Took me 4 weeks till I was willing to try another smoothie, haven't had the problem since just really watch the berry measurement.
If I have too much sugar I tend to also develop hypoglycemia as my body starts pumping out insulin to counter the sugar, not something I do to often, but I know it's going to happen and I've learned how to treat effectively.
The tricky part sometimes is knowing which one it is, as I don't take insulin anymore, I stopped carrying my glucometer.

Good morning :) Sounds like your rowing class was a success Ginny, especially since you were feeling it this morning. I want to be a 'Ginny' when I grow up
Just another day at the office for me and then celebrating another year in the rearview tonight with family and friends.
B - greek yogurt
S- 1/2 protein shake
L - chicken veggie soup with protein isolate powder
S- 1/2 protein shake
D - whatever my mom is cooking, probably chicken something
S - turkey pepperette (if I am hungry)
2 L water and vitamins

I've had times where I am fine with something and then could have the same thing another day and dump. Its weird.
I've had no problem with bananas though and eat them often.
I think that yogurt may be the culprit though, I have to spend a good amount of time in the yogurt aisle checking all the labels. SO many of them have WAY too much sugar.

Good morning everyone. Well I did make it the row/ab class night. It's basically about a half of hour of interval rowing followed by 15 - 20 minutes of abs and stretch. It was good, because I wouldn't normally use the rower and I know it's working different muscle groups a little harder. I will do it again on Wednesday. There's loud tunes and quite a few people so it makes it a little more tolerable I think.
A little achey this morning but its a good ache and I went to the gym and did my full body weight routine this morning. I have an offsite meeting this morning and then a brief training session this afternoon so hopefully the day goes by quick.

Good morning all on this COLD morning. Just working today, then will be cycling tonight indoors to get some exercise and generate body heat.
COUNTRY all the way for me (you probably knew that by having partridge on my menu last week). I too was raised in the country and am from a line of farmers so I like the wide open space. I did live in a city when I went to college and it was "ok" for that period of my life but moved back out into the country as soon as I could. I was just saying this weekend, how much fun my brother and I had in a huge ditch out front of our house as kids... we used crazy carpets to slide down the bank, skated and played hockey when the ice was smooth enough, and built snow forts under the bridge like our private clubhouse. In the summer we would catch pike or hide from our parents to avoid Sat morning cleaning :)
B - greek yogurt
S - turkey pepperette
L - 2 chicken skewers
S - 1/2 protein shake
D - cream of mushroom soup - extra skim milk powder for protein
S - 1/2 protein shake
All water and vits.
:( Scale isn't moving so I'm not sure what the issue is..... going back to some soups in hopes that does the trick.
