Topic: What's on your Thursday Menu?

Happy Friday Eve Gang.

Can't wait for Friday afternoon to be here feeling defeated and like we just can't get ahead anymore. I'm frustrated with the Town of Putnam. Our property tax bill went up $1127 from last year because they did their 3-year property reevaluation and everyone's property jump up a crazy amount. In the past years it's gone up $100 or $200, but this amount is insane. So now our bill is over 4k a year. I'm not sure where the heck these people think the residents have all this extra money just lying around. Oh, and the town will not allow anyone to have their property reevaluated or fight what the town says the properties are worth.

I know some of you aren't going to like my opinion on this, but Democrats are just as greedy and crooked as Republicans neither party are any good and only look out for themselves, they don't give two monkey butts about the residents of towns or citizens of the US. We need a third party instead of the usual crooks. Yes, the Mayor of Putnam is a Democrat who when first elected was a Republican, but after 2 months in office switched parties.

Sorry for the rant guys, but when one person in the household is on a fixed income and the other busts their butt working only to have the hard-earned money taken to support stupid crap it gets frustrating. Now I see why people just walk into a store and steal stuff. Sometimes I think it's not worth working or owning anything.

QOTD: If you were to move out of the US and relinquish your citizenship, what country would you move to? At this point I'm so frustrated with everything in the US that Russia looks good, OK not really. I think maybe Denmark or Sweden some Northern European country would be nice to move to.

B: coffee and breakfast wrap

L: ham and cheddar panni

D: lemon veal with summer squash

Have a great day everyone!!

When I was in grade school there was a candy store that sold a box of pumpkin seeds for a penny. I think they were roasted and salted. It was one of my favorite treats. I wanted to grow my own pumpkin. I saved some seeds when my mother made a pumpkin pie and planted them. A pumpkin plant grew and was so pretty.

I had planted it in the front lawn. I was about six. My father put up with it for a while but finally cut it down. I tried again as an adult at my own home. The plants grew and got pumpkins but the rabbits at them.

My favorite nut now is macademia.

Good morning, everyone!

Three straight days in the office is kind of tiring, I'm not sure how I used to do five every week. But the reward is that I am home for 5 straight days starting this evening.

Marilyn joined my daughter's Fantasy Football league and she has her draft tonight, so I might help out with that. And we have Happy Hour, but I have a check in with the Oral Surgeon early morning, so I probably won't participate.

QOTD: Favorite Nut? Definitely Chrissy!

Breakfast: Bagel

Lunch: salad

Dinner: Chicken Fajitas

Have a great day, all!

Morning Gang. Thanks for starting us off Mel I got tied up with an issue at work and I'm just now getting on. I just wish people would do their jobs and stop lying about doing it. It ends up making things so much more difficult in the long run. Any who thankfully we are halfway through the week, and I have a long weekend coming up.

Mel if you can get your hands on some Elderberry syrup it's pretty good for helping get rid of colds and such.

QOTD: Almonds and pumpkin seeds. We have 15 good size pumpkins growing so should have a nice amount of fresh pumpkin seeds to roast in another month.

B: coffee and breakfast wrap

L: pork tacos

D: fried eggplant

Have a great day everyone!!

Good morning folks! Hope y'all's day is off to a good start.

Not a whole lot planned here. We need to go get Frankie's treats and a few errands. I've got a cold my niece so kindly shared with me. It may be a sinus infection also. Just annoying.

QOTD: what is your favorite nut or seed?

Mines walnuts. Then pumpkin seeds.

B: eggs, chicken sausage with cheese and coffee

L: likely a salad

D: meatloaf and eggplant

have a great one y'all!

QOTD- Put my electric blanket back on my bed. That is all I have planned.

I can't wait for the weather to get cooler, after 103 on Sunday I'm ready for some cooler weather. Getting over 100 is an anomaly for us, and I'm ready for it to be over. It's still supposed to be in the 90's for the next week.

My clothesline works great, but the guys came to pressure wash the patio and driveway. So I used my portable one for the towels. Oh well my clothes dried and all was good, but it was too hot when I pulled them off the line.

My roommate has a phone interview on Wednesday so send some positive thoughts his way.

I need to get to work.

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning, everyone!

I liked that Serena Williams was honest about being on GLP medication. I don't believe that everyone has the right to know about her health decisions, but if she is going to discuss them, I respect her for being honest. I do think it helps people who are on the fence decide whether to take action to address their own health issues.

Although I usually WFH on Tuesday, I am going into the office because I have a dentist and a doctor appointment on Thursday.

QOTD: We are going to Spain and Portugal in a few weeks.

Breakfast: bagel

Lunch: chicken parm

Dinner: pasta

Have a great day, all!

Good mornin y'all.

its a rainy morning here and I'm here for it. We've had 5 days of 100° weather here this year, last year it was 36. It's freakin weird! I like it though...though the increased humidity is killer.

Yesterday was a really bad pain day. I broke down and took one ibuprofen. It did take the edge off but I won't be doing it again. It was a moment of weakness. I got my appointment with the orthopedic doctor rescheduled finally. It'll be next Wednesday. They had to find an office to move to. The building they were in might be a total loss...it's pretty bad and it's a big complex.

I need to run to the post office and we might go to Ollie's.

QOTD: no plans this fall.

B: egg, feta and chicken sausage...coffee

L: maybe a burrito

D: ???

Happy Tuesday Gang. It feels so good to be back in the office and not have to deal with the scale house. I feel like I haven't gotten my work done in the last few months but made a big dent in the piles on my desk.

We found out last night that the Y will be closing the lap pool, hot tub, and fitness center starting today until Sept. 2nd. They will be draining and cleaning the pool and hot tub and then the fitness center gets a deep cleaning. I will say the Y is a pretty spic and span place. So, we will have a little break for a week of exercise which will give me a chance to do some other stuff around the house.

QOTD: With the weather slowly starting to change to cooler temps do you have any Fall plans? The only two things I would like to do is go to a Scottish Festival in September and apple picking with my daughter and granddaughter.

B: tea and breakfast wrap

L: Stromboli

D: chicken salad stuffed hot peppers

Have a great day everyone!!!

Happy Monday! Glad you all had mostly good weekends. It was scorching hot here, it may have turned our apples to applesauce on the tree. Hope it's not too late to get them to the food bank.

Hubs is going camping with our daughter and her fam for 3 days this week. I'm giddy with the possibilities of projects to do, loud music to listen to (Christmas even!), maybe even sleeping in. He'll have a great time and come back with fun stories and hopefully pictures. For me to be able to dirt camp with all the bugs would require round the clock Xanax. (I've only had it once for a procedure but it was a very happy experience, haha)

QOTD: This season- blue but I'm already pulling out my old, smaller plum clothes for Autumn!

NSV: My bat wings are back! Haven't seen them in around 10 years.

B: 2 cups Genmaicha and itbwas not enough caffiene

L: My choc/collagen/espresso protein shake.

S: a deck of cards size piece of Hermiston watermelon.

D: 3 Oz chicken breast, 1 sautéed zucchini.

LS: 1 c ff Greek yogurt w/a sprinkle sf Jello powder.
