Isopure has an unflavored protein powder I still use to add to food when I need it. It's a little pricey but worth it to me. Sometimes I add it to coffee, soup...all sorts of things.

as for pea protein powder...I hated it. I found it didn't mix well and just had an awful texture.

Topic: Pea Protein Powder

Many of us are well into our postoperative period and using ready shakes like Premiere Protein instead of powders. Since I've got so much regain to lose I'm trying to eat like a5 or 6 month newbie and protein powder works well now.

Somewhere on the internet people were saying how useful unflavored pea powder is in recipes. Did I save that info? No I didn't.

Tried it for the first time today in my cottage cheese. It was a sad experience but with lots of hot sauce I nearly finished the meal.

Have any of you used it before? It tastes a bit like powdered soy so it may need something strong to conceal it. It really thickened that cottage cheese too. That property might make it useful in something like a squash bake or a 'cream' soup. Maybe I should chuck it in the deep freeze and try it again when the weather turns cold. Pumpkin protein custard?

When you were a new postop did you use powdered proteins and if so, what kind?

Thank you, my sister said to do the same thing. It is better tonight 100/52. So sorry to hear about you fall, painful and expensive too. Hope you don't have low BP very often now.

Hanging my head in shame because I don't know my number. I was low on iron for years and even had a radio wave ablation in hopes it would lighten my periods. Only helped a little. Full hysterectomy brought the iron levels up some but my Dr's have all said to take otc iron for life, so it can't be much. I'd for sure ask your doctor to consider other possible causes making your iron low.

My last labs my ferritin was at a 9, which combined with my other lab numbers didn't necessitate an infusion yet. I think my lowest was maybe a 5 or 6. I seem to be doing okay with an infusion every 12-15 months right now. My hematologist has me go every 6 months for labs.

When I get low blood pressure they tell me to use more salt. Potato chips are good to do that but just keeping salt shaker close to my plate reminds me to use it. There are times I should have called an ambulence and avoided falling but I did not and broke bones and lost a tooth one morning.,

Hi RNY'ers! Checking in on my phone quick, babysitting the grands and forgot my charger.

B-my usual protein shake (the or nurse ok'd the collagen)

L: green beans, blueberries, nf cottage cheese, 1 scoop pea protein. Smells yuck but good #s

D: 2 cps watermelon and cottage cheese.

Tomorrow starts the white diet ick. All the fiber today.

Whirlwind of calls, turns out my BP is dangerously low and Dr wished I'd called an ambulance. She adjusted meds, will be fine soon. Got the funeral flowers ordered. On to the rest of the day. Toodles!

I had Uterine fibroids that would cause me to have very heavy menstrual cycles and I would only get maybe two weeks of no bleeding before it would start up again. It was a vicious cycle that went on for a good 6 years and in that time I had to have 3 iron infusions because my ferritin was as low a 4. A few years ago I had a hysterectomy and it changed everything. My ferritin has not once gone below 70 and depending on what supplement I take has been over 100. Might be something to look into.

I tried to search the site but that feature is still offline.

Mine is 10. I know I don't have a GI bleed as I had a colonoscopy and EGD in April. I know it's low but is it way to low? I have an appointment on the phone on the 18th and wondering if there is anything I should ask about.

my brain has the dumb so I will need to write it down.
