Good to see you back. Sorry you had to deal with that surgery hopefully you heal quickly. The group is small now, but we do our best to keep the menu thread going and support each other.

Was the Dubai Chocolate good? It looks hairy to me, and I try to avoid hairy foods. Haha. Easier said than done with three Alaskan Malamutes in the house.

Good mornin folks.

Feeling rather rough physically but somewhat better mentally. I'll take any improvements in that area no matter how small. At least I am able to let go of anger easier these days. It does me no good to be angry at someone who couldn't care less if I was mad at them(that applies to anyone not just my mom). My stomach has been temperamental. A big part of the rough feeling.

Today we're doing the thrift store and we need to get the dog biscuits or the dogs might die. They have to have certain ones and we forgot them Wednesday at Walmart. I also need to get to the post office to get some boxes.

QOTD: usually always. Now if I pay attention or not is another thing.

food is terribly unplanned. I had a piece of Dubai chocolate and it spiked my BS's already so I'm going to try and take it easier for the rest of the day.

B: breakfast burrito and chocolate.

things made in the last month and some memes splashed in there.

It?s been a suuuuuuuper long time since I posted here.

I?m fresh out of a hiatal hernia repair and pouch resection. I had my surgery Monday. I needed to pretty much start over in terms of eating.
Per my surgeon, I can be on puréed foods, but that didn?t go so hot yesterday.
I figured as long as I?m a newbie 2.0, I?d start posting here to keep myself accountable.

Re:QOTD-I check labels like it?s my job. Pre-new surgery, I may have ignored the macros on those labels, but I always read them!
I?m 12 years out from RNY, and it?s become habit to read labels.

My food plan for today:

M1-Isopure Zero Carb Creamy Vanilla, 4 oz, 1 oz at a time. I?ve found my old shot glass that I used the first time around.

M2-Plain probiotic yogurt with some of the protein powder mixed in.

M3-Lime jello-zero sugar

M4-Protein shake, repeat amounts as earlier

Water and Gatorade zero as I can. May try to drink a tiny amount of decaf coffee. I?ve got Nescafé Gold in decaf. I LOVE the blonde Nescafé Gold. Yum.

I?m still in the sip,sip,sip-walk,walk,walk stage here so?.sipping and walking what I can manage.

Cleanin out car ... hanging clothes in closets - sleeping on ( well I hope at least ) a blow up bed w Christmas tree flannel sheets after an hours long bath . Oh yeah tot maxin n relaxin !

food - so far nonexistent but its early ... and frankly I LIKE 2 wear belly baring trendy thangs like the supermodel I am !

its fun being delusional lol - guess thats why so many peeple do it

Theres a fantastic ( and reasonably priced) Spanish food buffet around the corner from th new apartment ...so I expect l and d will come from there . Wonderful soups .

Happy Friday Gang!! Another week in the books. I ended up only watching the first quarter of the game last night, but the highlights this morning showed the Pats are on a roll. Finishing up getting ready for the last outage of the year next week here at work.

I have someone coming over tomorrow to buy some horse tack I have for sale since I don't need all the stuff I have. Other than that not sure what else the weekend holds.

QOTD: How often do you check the labels on food for carb, sugar, fat, etc.? I do half the time especially when I'm making something new and have to use an ingredient I normally don't use. I really should check labels more than I do.

B: coffee and protein shake

L: Thai food just not sure what I'm going to get

D: shrimp and clams with andouille sausage

Have a great day and weekend!!!

I was admiring the bird activity in Long Island today ... blue jays, red cardinals .. they all seem happy scarfing down tiny crabapples and other berries ... black and super sweet yellow fall raspberries.

Then they hide in the bushes where Im assuming they have nests :)

Oh Mel I'm sorry about your mom. Not sure why some parents favor one child over the other.

QOTD- Fish and shrimp, I don't eat meat no chicken or other meat. So I'm pretty limited, I also eat a ton of Greek yogurt.

My roommate is already having issues with his new job. They are telling him to violate the DOT rules to get his load delivered. I told him not to do it, to talk to the safety people and make sure he doesn't push the limits. It's a huge fine and he could lose his commercial license.

I have a couple of bird feeders in my back yard. The suet feeder is now attracting crows, it hysterical to watch them try to land on it and eat from it. I didn't really think that they would be interested, but I was wrong. I really don't mind there are a variety of birds from Blue Jays to Flickers and the smaller birds. I love to watch them. Sometimes it's better than TV. I bought a 40lb bag of food so it's not costing me too much, and the suet was about $1 each. So I'll support them as long as I can. Winter is coming.

I've been procrastinating enough, I need to get back to work.

Have a great day everyone!
