Topic: What's on your Monday menu?

Good Monday morning gang. I hope all the dads out there had a nice Father's Day. I made Irvin a beef brisket and angel hair with shrimp and lobster pieces. It was a quiet weekend because Saturday it rained and then Sunday it was overcast and I didn't feel like doing anything. Just did some inside cleaning and cooking.

This week I start twice a week covering the scale for the next 8 weeks, but I get 6% upgrade pay for doing it so that's pretty good. I also have this Friday off and I'm hoping to go strawberry picking with my daughter and granddaughter.

QOTD: What's your favorite fruit? I love all sorts of fruit, but strawberries and golden kiwi's are at the top of my list followed by blueberries and red raspberries.

B: coffee and 1/2 cup cottage cheese with fresh strawberries

L: salad with cut up brisket

D: leftover pasta and seafood

30 minutes on the treadmill.

Have a great Monday everyone!!!

Thank you! I did take the lightning photo a few years ago!

the butterflies were made with "scales" that a jump ring manufacturer makes and I put them together with jump rings.

Friyay! I'm ready for the weekend. We have our chiropractor appt tomorrow and Em and I are going to take John to dinner Sunday but not much else going on. It'll be close to 100 degrees so I won't be doing much outside.

QOTD: I don't but I'll read through the comments and I'm sure I'll know after.

Typical menu today with dinner being a burger patty and few bites of a chicken sausage John picked up at Costco. Exercise, water and vits taken care of!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

So sorry your arm is still so painful, good for you keeping up with your home exercises. Yikes, when pets don't get along it's awful. I brought a feral into our 4-cat household but none of them tolerated him and one would routinely attack. Is there any hope Percy and Tange will ever get along? Crossing fingers for you!

Beautiful lightning photo, did you take it? And the butterflies are really pretty it must have taken a long time to get all those edges smooth and then connected.

Hope your humidity will break soon.

Yay, glad it's Friday this week's been a butt kicker. But nothing compared to what you accomplished this week getting past that certification and then handling the extra work and printing problems like a pro! Hope you do get to watch the grandkids race. Sounds fun!

Chinese lunch update today: Decided on their plain salad (don't want sodium making me hold water tomorrow: weigh-in) and sneaked from home 2 oz black beans and 1 mozz stick but they had NO lettuce. Kind waitress got them to make steamed veggies w/no sauce which one of you suggested. Pretty, vibrant veggies sort of warm but strangely topped with big tough chunks of cold tomatoes. All that was safe was the tiny mushroom slices, maybe equaled 1 whole one. But Hey--first ever restaurant lunch of only 3 calories. LOL! Since RNY raw veggies don't work and these maybe saw a minute of steam. This weekend after weigh-in I'll cook them to death for a side with SALT, baby! haha

B- my usual protein/collagen shake, couldn't finish.

L- soft mushroom slices, then the rest of the shake at home.

D-will be black beans and mozz stick not eaten at lunch, 1/2 c cooked broccoli, 2 tsp butter to bring up my fat grams

LS-2 T chia seeds in water

QOTD- Friday the 13th is always a great day. I've never thought to look up what that fear is called. Now, Friday the 18th is horrible and I'd always superstitiously stay at home with the door locked if possible. Bad things always happen that day.

Going to try to post a Mostly Before and In Progress of the big section of my little garden. Crossing fingers I have this figured out. Have a fun weekend everybody. I'll be in the garden! Mostly Before In Progress Edit: clearly didn't work, le sigh.

Good morning, everyone!

Another Friday in the books. Nothing like the feeling of a summer Friday! I have a number of calls in the morning, but the afternoon is wide open.

I am signed up for a Sprint Triathlon in downstate Illinois tomorrow. It's several hours drive to get there, but if I wanted to do something before the 2 in August, it really needs to be this weekend because I am going to Florida next weekend and then we have a two week cruise that knocks out at least three weekends.

The issue is that it's going to be raining this weekend. They will have the race as long as it's not lightening outside. Fingers crossed because it's a lot of unnecessary driving if the race is canceled. BTW, check the map Illinois is a very long state. As for the race: 500 swim, 12 mile bicycle and 5K run. Should be fun weather permitting.

Other than that, driving Marilyn and my younger son to the airport on Sunday morning and fishing with my older son Sunday afternoon.

QOTD: Yes!

Breakfast: corned beef hash

Lunch: chicken

Dinner: TBD in downstate

Have a great day, all!
