Good mornin Jennifer and all. Sorry to hear of the mess at work! I also would've decided on that with the goats, that would certainly be so hard to deal with if the bear succeeds a time in the future! A hard choice but I feel right too.

I have my long awaited appointment with the orthopedic doctor this afternoon. Good vibes are appreciated! I'm trying to make a little extra money with chainmaille so I can pay a little extra on my dental debt before I have surgery(if that's the solution).

the momma cat is in my room for a few days. My thought that she was dumped to begin with stands firm. She used the cat pan without an issue(I had the issue, pew!). She is so dang sweet and I really want to keep her inside too. I'm such an utter fool for cats. I get attached so much so quickly. I want to get her into an indoor only cat home. Another request for good vibes please? I'd appreciate it and she would too. She is on antibiotics hence her being inside. We were told by the clinic who does the slaying that they'd work her in next week as everyone loved her. When I say she's sweet it's an understatement! She weighs 8 pounds pregnant so she's a dainty thing. Will try to get some good pics this afternoon when the lightings better.

QOTD: potato is my favorite. Ha ha ha. I loved them fried with onions and garlic best. Also love the potato soup my grandma made with a ton of onions in it.

B: pita with egg, cheese and coffee

L: not sure on this one

D: chicken thigh and roasted carrots

have a great day everyone!

Good Wednesday morning gang. Mel thanks for starting us off yesterday I literally walked into a mess at work. The person covering the scale on Saturday apparently forgot how to run the scale and almost all of the tickets were wrong so I had to deal with fixing them and getting my month end stuff done.

We had an incident with the black bear that keeps coming around it tried to get into the goat's pen and luckily, we were home and heard the commotion. Irvin ran out with the shot gun to scare it off. It didn't get into the pen but was trying to climb the panels even though it was getting shocked by the electric fence. After that I had a long talk with Irvin and decided it was best if we sold the goats as I would be devastated if I came home and they were dead due to the bear. In CT even if a bear is attacking livestock they are protected, and you are not allowed to actually shoot it.

We are not worried about the chickens or rabbits as they are closer to the house and they are double cooped. It would take a bear forever to try and break into their coops. The goats even with the electric fence around the outside of the panels were an easier target. I'm sad to see them go, but I know its for the best. I told Irvin NO MORE animals unless we get a couple of Cain Corso's to protect them.

Other than excitement the long weekend was pretty quiet. There is training today and tomorrow here at work nothing I have to actually participate in, but I did have to get the packets all together.

QOTD: What's your favorite form of potato? I love potatoes prepared all sorts of ways, but a nice hot helping of mashed potatoes with a really tasty gravy is my all-time favorite.

B: coffee and 2 egg omelet with spinach and feta

L: leftover smoked jalapeno poppers

We have to wait a few more days until the Y opens back up they had to extend the cleaning and repairs to the pool and fitness center due to the contractor they had coming in having some issues.

Have a great day everyone!!

Hi, sorry to hear you are battling those health issues. I only had bad, not severe, reflux before my revision to RNY (I'd had traditional stomach stapling before) and the surgery solved that problem. The only times I've had reflux in the last 19 years has been when I've eaten something too late than went to bed or had some really bad stress. I do remember in support group locally there was another patient (same Dr.) who had RNY to cure her reflux and Barrett's. She only needed to lose a scant bit of weight but really needed the help for her esophagus so she wouldn't end up with cancer there eventually. She did and is still doing great, we only just follow each other on FB now but she looks in the best of health. I hope you'll get more answers from people with firsthand experience.

Keep cool as best you can! We were running the house a/c plus a wall unit in the kitchen while I was steam-juicing and canning all day. Neither of them kept up with the kitchen. Cooler weather will be so lovely and at least here, all the trees and shrubs seem to be saying we'll have an early Autumn. Then comes these 101 degree days. Mother Nature seems to be off her meds this year.

Aw, hugs for you over losing some of your fur babies. Before we were TNR'ing I had no idea they spayed and terminated pregnancies at the same time. It must be so very hard on the vet and techs. Have to admit a guilty pleasure of mine is watching TinyKittensHQ on Youtube, a cat rescue who do amazing work in Langley, B.C. It can help you get your kitten fix when they just aren't affordable in real life.

Sure hope you can get your blood sugar under control, I've seen with family how very hard that can be. Hang in there and keep after that PCO.

QOTD: Thinking at least the next two months my face is going to look pretty swollen and gross. No idea what kind of lifting limits he'll put on me, I just know I don't want to do a single thing to damage the surgery. DD wants to book me for lots of babysitting in advance which would normally be fun and fine but...the thought of getting my face whacked by a toddler or having to lift any of the kids scares me. I've never been this scared before a surgery before. If it were up to me, we'd just see them socially and in my hiding time I'd sew Christmas gifts or make crafty things for presents.

So in the middle of Plumageddon '25 we had the reroofing started today and it was a bazillion degrees inside and out. If we had a walk in cooler that'd be nice to hold the fruit. It would always be fun to know how many pounds we get off that Italian plum tree but it is always a hectic rush to deal with it, haha. And because of it I didn't have much time to eat anything. My breakfast shake finally happened at 2, haha. Lunch was a quarter of a plum by the time I added up some of the slices I tasted. Too busy for dinner but before bed I'll drink a rtu protein shake.

Hope everybody had a great day, see you probably late tomorrow again. Pre-op appt. tomorrow. If they weigh me I don't want to know because I always weigh more later in the day.

We were going to get one of the stray momma cats spayed today. They wouldn't do it because she has a slight upper respiratory infection. Understandable of course. So we took her to the vet to get some meds. They said it was mild and it should clear up. The program to fix them said they'd do it next week. She is the sweetest cat ever. I wish we could find her a good home. I just think she deserves a nice warm home. To not have any more litters of kittens.

QOTD- No plans so far, I can't believe that I'm saying this but I can't wait for the rain.

Another 90+ degree day today. I really am looking forward to cooler weather.

My roommate is spending this week with his fiance. So I have the house to myself. Keeping my fingers crossed that he gets married and moves out. He also needs a job.

I keep looking at houses and wishing I could sell this place and move into a one story. I'm done with stairs the plate and 4 screws in my wrist are enough to convince me.

I had 3 kittens when I got mine, and lost one of them at 1 1/2 to kidney failure. So now it is 2 but honestly I can't imagine my life without them.

Have a great day everyone!

I would have cried over the baby kitten too. My husband spent years with physical therapy for shoulder pain. An operation finally relieved it but there was a painful six months recovery time.
