Topic: RE: What's on your Wednesday Menu?

G'afternoon, All!

I had physical therapy this morning and then one of my film groups immediately after. I was thinking of running some errands this afternoon, but it's rainy and gloomy and none of the errands are critical, so I think I'll just stay home and read. Or nap. Or maybe make some protein muffins.

I have a third cousin whom I've never met who lives in California (our great grandmothers were sisters back in what is now Romania (at the time it was part of Austria-Hungary). We "met" via DNA testing and have been Facebook friends ever since. Anyway, I found out last night that her daughter just accepted a job in Madison (where I live), so I told her to please give her daughter my email address and phone number - we can be her home away from home! (and at minimum, I want to meet her!). And the really weird thing is that her OTHER daughter will be moving to Reno to do her residency in psychiatry - and my sister lives in Reno! So weird. Anyway, I'm looking forward to meeting the one bound for Madison! (wouldn't our great grandmothers be weirded out that their respective great granddaughters would meet up over 100 years later in a country thousands of miles away??)

QOTD: I almost never cry, at movies or otherwise, but I did shed a few tears at the end of an Irish film called "Nowhere Special" that I watched for one of my film groups a few weeks ago. It wasn't one of those movies that was intentionally trying to manipulate my emotions (which ticks me off..) - it was genuinely a sad movie. Everyone at the discussion group had the same reaction.

B: plain Greek yogurt with a sliced kiwi, coffee with half & half

MS: I had a rugelach and a mini scone at the film group meeting (I hate it when people bring food! It's hard for me to resist!)

L: protein shake

AS: probably yogurt and something crunchy like Skinny Pop

D: broccoli cheese soup - not sure what else

Have a great day, everyone!

I used to work in a computer room that was completely closed in. We would call someone up front to see what the weather was doing. It is nice to have a window.

Good morning Jennifer and Menuer's,

I am officially moved out of my private office, and I do have a window in front of me now. I can actually tell you it is raining out. I do like me roomie. Our fathers worked together, and I have known him since I was 7. He's like a brother so I am good with it. Still have not got word on when my meeting is.

Good morning, everybody!

I am running late because I went to pick up Marilyn from the airport. Traffic was pretty heavy both ways, so glad to be off of the roads. Marilyn went from poolside to 57 and rainy in Chicago, so she is still adjusting.

My son and I are going for a fishing trip this weekend, so I need to get packed up for that. Plus I need to get to the gym.

QOTD: I can't think of one right now.

Breakfast: bagel

Lunch: chili

Dinner: burgers

Have a great, day all!

Good mornin y'all.

Been a busy day so far! Finally found a pharmacy that had pregablin so we picked it up and went to Walmart with my nieces and nephew. What a load of fun that was...NOT! They are a handful in that setting. The rest of the day will just be putting around the house. I may go through some stuff in my room. I'll also work on some jewelry.

weighed in this morning and broke the stall. Down 1.2 pounds. I am relieved. I had 200 extra calories yesterday so maybe my system just needed a jolt.

QOTD: Saving Private Ryan...Band of Brothers and Schindler's List. I probably will never watch them again because it wrecks me.

B: egg burrito and coffee.

L: chicken tender and maybe some tomato.

D: undecided

have a great one y'all!

The last thing that made me cry was not a movie. It was a book called Horse by Geraldine Brooks. It is a fascinating story about how horseracing started in Kentucky in the south.
it gets into slavery and mistreatment of horses used for racing. A little hard to get into the book for the first chapter or 2 but then really becomes an amazing story.

Happy Hump day gang. I love having short work weeks. I didn't do to much last night when I got except for putting some bags of trash in the car to take into work today. Both Irvin and I were a bit tired from all of the stuff we did and decided to take a rest for the night.

We might have a lead on another Billy Goat for our girls. I reached out to a lady in MA and we'll see what she has available. Irvin is supposed to go with his sister to look at a couple of pieces of farming equipment that is not far from our house. She is going to be doing some haying and needs a hay rake and another small tractor. He's good at looking things over well to make sure they run correctly.

QOTD: Is there any movie that makes you cry? I've seen a lot of movies and while some can be upsetting there is only one that even to this day makes me cry. The Horse Whisper with Robert Redford and Scarlett Johansson. The one scene where Scarlett is riding her horse Pilgram along with her friend on the snowy logging road and they start to run up a hill and her friends horse slides down while a logging truck is coming and then Pilgram starts to slide. Her friend is killed, but Pilgram rears up and takes the brunt of the truck saving Scarlett and himself but also traumatizes them both. If you've never seen the movie, it's great, but very emotional.

B: coffee and ham and cheese wrap

L: hoping to get my crab bite tacos from down the street I keep missing them

D: chicken salad over garden salad

30 minutes on the treadmill

Have a great day everyone!!!

Hi everyone! The weekend was glorious with the extra day added. We had a nice blend of relaxation, meals out with friends, highlighted and freshly cut hair and a pedicure. Then today was a little busier than I'd anticipated but one day closer to my trip on Friday so no complaints here.

QOTD: We enjoyed some time with a friend that was visiting from Ohio and drove about an hour to a restaurant John was craving and I had a great Tri tip salad.

I haven't plugged dinner in yet, but usual breakfast, lunch and snacks and dinner is zucchini noodles spaghetti with meatballs. I got my workout in and vits and water taken care of.

We used to call my grandmother the designated mourner. If there was a funeral she was there. Not sure if she stayed for the service and food but I know she went to every viewing.

Good morning Jenniefer and Menuer's

Well, this will be the week I know my faith in this company. I am hoping it is not as bad as I am thinking, and I have to remember it will be only a sentence of 5-7 years. So it won't be that bad. Weekend was great. They loved the Galbi and the Prime rib. We used the Texas Roadhouse recipe for the prime rib, and it came out perfect. I did get to gym both Saturday and Sunday and I was able to put away all the stuff I cleaned out of my office from the move. I am hoping the weather starts to warm up I am ready for some pool time. The pool is open and crystal clear now all we need is the sunshine.

QOTD: Pretty relaxing. I did a lot of cooking and cleaning and entertaining for the family. I did do a dry weekend not one ****tail. I really need to take off some weight. As I progress, I will let you know how it is going.

Accountability: I stayed away from desserts and most carbs. I did have a smoked turkey sandwich at the Pittsburgh Food truck festival, but I only get it once a year and it is worth the cheat.
