We got a huge rat in our basement when I was about 12. There was bags of cornmeal down there and it was eating that. I was in the basement one night and saw it. My father used poison and got it but I am still afraid of that old basement, when I was first married we had a mouse get in. I imagined it was a huge rat and was afraid to sleep that night.
It was in a trap in the morning and I saw how tiny it was. After that I got a cat and felt safer. Snakes are scary too.

Real life begins where your comfort zone ends
Good Tuesday morning gang. Yesterday was a beautiful day only wish I didn't have to work. The new blades and back tires for the zero turn came in and Irvin will work on getting them installed today so I can get the lawn mowed.
We moved the last 5 meat chickens to the big coop and can now clean out the box truck body so we can move the goats down into the paddock we made for them. Positive they are both pregnant which we are very excited about. I got my potatoes planted and then just worked on little things here and there.
Meisha found a dove in the greenhouse that was stuck in the netting. Instead of hurting it she laid down next to it and waited for me to come over and untangle it. Then I picked it up and let it go. I was proud of her because she is such a good hunter and usually attacks birds, but not this time.
QOTD: What's an animal that scares you? Snakes all the way. For me it's the fact that an animal can move so fast without legs. They are the reason I need to keep the lawn mowed down. I don't like those suckers sneaking up on me. Of course I think I scare them more than they scare me since I scream like a banshee. LOL
B: coffee and scrambled eggs with chopped up brisket

Well, I went for the infusion today and once again I failed. Reaction started but nurse was able to get it stopped before it got bad. Her name was Wanda and she was also a success story having undergone gastric sleeve 10 yrs ago. Excellent nurse on top of her game. Thank goodness for nurses like her.

Good Monday Morning everyone. I had a great weekend. Met my mom at the cemetery to plant the flowers at my grandparents and aunt's site. Then I went back home and finished the Mother's Day dinner. My mom came over at 2:30 and she stayed until 5. We started watching the Kevin Costner movie Horizen a Western saga. A great time was had by all.
Here's some pictures from yesterday.

Have a wonderful day everyone!!!
Hello all! I am 16 years postop. And I am experiencing my absorption issues. I am very iron deficient and I am unable to take oral iron. Last month they attempted to do an infusion and I had a severe reaction to this. Infusion had to be stopped tomorrow, they will be attempting another one, and I am terrified as the pain with the first one was very bad. Has anyone else experienced a problem with this or have any comments regarding this?
Also, I have read that intestinal parasites can cause iron deficiency before my bypass. I know I used to do cleanses, but I have been afraid to try that since the bypass does anyone have any recommendations or know anything about these things any help would be greatly appreciated thank you.
Happy Friday, and Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there!

Hey everyone! I'm here to share an ambitious dream that fuels me every day: to pursue bodybuilding after I undergo weight loss surgery. It might sound like a distant goal right now, especially as I navigate my journey towards surgery, but it's a vision that keeps me focused and hopeful.
Let's be honest, the thought of a woman my size (currently 400+ pounds) stepping onto a bodybuilding stage might raise a few eyebrows. It's certainly not the typical path. However, I believe that limitations are often self-imposed, and I'm determined to challenge those boundaries for myself. I've made the significant decision to have weight loss surgery as a crucial step towards better health and a more active life. This surgery isn't the finish line; it's the starting block for a whole new chapter.
Why bodybuilding? Because it represents strength, discipline, and the incredible potential of the human body to transform. It's about setting seemingly impossible goals and working relentlessly to achieve them. I'm drawn to the challenge, the dedication required, and the empowering feeling of sculpting my physique. I know the road ahead will be demanding, filled with hard work and perseverance. But the image of myself, strong and confident on that stage, is a powerful motivator.
Right now, my focus is on preparing for and recovering from weight loss surgery. This involves significant lifestyle changes, working closely with healthcare professionals, and building a strong foundation for the future. Bodybuilding is the long-term goal, the light at the end of the tunnel that inspires me to make the necessary changes today.
This is my dream, and I'm taking the first steps towards making it a reality. I'll be sharing my journey the challenges, the milestones, and the progress I make along the way. I hope that by sharing my story, I can inspire others to pursue their own bold dreams, no matter how unconventional they might seem. Let's redefine what's possible, one step at a time!
