Topic: Malabsorption

Hello all! I am 16 years postop. And I am experiencing my absorption issues. I am very iron deficient and I am unable to take oral iron. Last month they attempted to do an infusion and I had a severe reaction to this. Infusion had to be stopped tomorrow, they will be attempting another one, and I am terrified as the pain with the first one was very bad. Has anyone else experienced a problem with this or have any comments regarding this?
Also, I have read that intestinal parasites can cause iron deficiency before my bypass. I know I used to do cleanses, but I have been afraid to try that since the bypass does anyone have any recommendations or know anything about these things any help would be greatly appreciated thank you.

Topic: My Bold Dream: Bodybuilding After Weight Loss Surgery

Hey everyone! I'm here to share an ambitious dream that fuels me every day: to pursue bodybuilding after I undergo weight loss surgery. It might sound like a distant goal right now, especially as I navigate my journey towards surgery, but it's a vision that keeps me focused and hopeful.

Let's be honest, the thought of a woman my size (currently 400+ pounds) stepping onto a bodybuilding stage might raise a few eyebrows. It's certainly not the typical path. However, I believe that limitations are often self-imposed, and I'm determined to challenge those boundaries for myself. I've made the significant decision to have weight loss surgery as a crucial step towards better health and a more active life. This surgery isn't the finish line; it's the starting block for a whole new chapter.

Why bodybuilding? Because it represents strength, discipline, and the incredible potential of the human body to transform. It's about setting seemingly impossible goals and working relentlessly to achieve them. I'm drawn to the challenge, the dedication required, and the empowering feeling of sculpting my physique. I know the road ahead will be demanding, filled with hard work and perseverance. But the image of myself, strong and confident on that stage, is a powerful motivator.

Right now, my focus is on preparing for and recovering from weight loss surgery. This involves significant lifestyle changes, working closely with healthcare professionals, and building a strong foundation for the future. Bodybuilding is the long-term goal, the light at the end of the tunnel that inspires me to make the necessary changes today.

This is my dream, and I'm taking the first steps towards making it a reality. I'll be sharing my journey the challenges, the milestones, and the progress I make along the way. I hope that by sharing my story, I can inspire others to pursue their own bold dreams, no matter how unconventional they might seem. Let's redefine what's possible, one step at a time!

Good morning, everyone!

Happy Mother's Day, to all of the Mom's. Jennifer, that dinner sounds fantastic, I would definitely take 13 bites and lie on the couch saying "I'm so full!!"

I only did about half of today's swim because I need to be in the office for a call and had to get home and get changed. But, it all worked out, I'm on the train headed into the city.

I have a fairly busy day, but it's all front loaded into the morning. I think I might read my employee benefits statement this afternoon. The weekend is mostly gym, straightening the garage and packing for our trip to California next week. I may go cycling with the group I swim with on Sunday morning, depending on the QOTD.

QOTD: Marilyn has been traveling quite a bit, so she wants to stay home. Hopefully the boys will cook something, but whether that is brunch, lunch or dinner, I'm not sure.

Breakfast: bagel

Lunch: steak

Dinner: maybe one last chili, we will see

Have a great weekend, all!

Good mornin y'all!

Other than an appointment for my B12 shot nothing much is planned for the day. My mom is going off with my aunt for the better part of the day. A nice day is ahead! I'll do a deep clean on the bathroom. I might do some other things around the house. It'll be nice to have a day to myself.

No plans for the weekend in particular.

QOTD: i'm making my mom an Alfredo Lasagna and we're buying a plain one for my brother and his family as they have no taste. I bought my mom a super nice set of sheets that will finally replace her old ones. Later this month I'm going to buy her a quilt or something for her bedroom. Money was tight this month(when isn't it?).

B: breakfast sandwich with beef bacon, cheese and egg. On an English muffin. Coffee of course

L: I might just fix me some soup!

D: chicken breast chopped up and mixed with BBQ sauce and cheese with a mini tortilla p(zero net carb)

pics are just some randoms.

Your dinner is going to be fabulous. I know our Sams Club has rainbow carrots but haven't seen them anywhere else. Enjoy Mothers Day.

Good Morning gang. We made it through another week. There is very heavy rain expect today in CT 1-3 inches which is kinda a bummer since it has rained most of the week, but I did get 4 flats of veggie plants put out in the little greenhouse and I repotted my eggplant. I'm taking a half day today so I can get the house cleaned up for Mother's day. I'm having my mom over for dinner after we plant flowers at my grandparents and aunt's gravesites. It's something we've been doing for a few years now. For the dinner I'm making French Onion Beef Brisket, loaded sweet potatoes, garlic parm shrimp and if I can find colored carrots I have a recipe for honey glazed colored carrots.

QOTD: Does anyone have any special plans for Mother's Day? I already mentioned about what I am doing with my mom, but Irvin said if there is someplace I would like to go on Saturday to let him know. I think it is supposed to rain half the day so I'll have to think about it.

B: coffee and two scrambled eggs with ham and cheese

L: ham and cheese wrap

D: baked monk fish with sweet potato fries

30 minutes on the treadmill and 10 minutes on the vibration platform

Have a great day and weekend everyone!! And a big Happy Mother's Day to all you mom's.

Today, I'm focusing on having a better mental day. I'm going to clean the house and get it ready for my mom to move in. While I work, I'll be listening to a pro wrestling podcast--one day, I hope I get to see my brother wrestle in person.

Meals Today:

  • Breakfast: Spicy Mango Yogurt Dip

  • Lunch: Sweet & Spicy Pineapple Chicken Lettuce Wraps

  • Dinner: Chili-Honey Roasted Sweet Potatoes

Question of the Day:
I like doing yardwork--it's a good workout and helps clear my mind.
