I'm not sure how your body knows the difference between different types of sugar. Some RNY folks do dump on fruit. Some don't. I dumped on fruit once when I ate a whole lot of it first thing in the morning with nothing else in my pouch. Normally, though, I do not dump on fruit. I do dump on table sugar (sucrose), if I eat too much of it.

I had heard/read 40% dump somewhere. Whatever the stat, like others have said. Some will dump, some won't. I have experienced it more with fatty foods. Also if I eat to much fruit. I still avoid high sugar foods the best I can. There have also been some foods that have caused me to dump one time and then not the next. I use a sugar called Whey Low. It is all natural made of sucrose, chrystaline lactose and chrystaline fructose. It is 1/4 the calories of table sugar, has a lower glycemic index, measures 1 for 1 as regular sugar in recipes (including baking) and has NO aftertaste which is the important factor for me. When I feel like having a bite of ice cream, I make it using this sugar which they make in a fine grain made for ice cream.
