Stinking Sleep Study
same thing happened to me....never reached REM sleep so i had to go in for a second study.....my Dr. prescribed a sleeping pill so i would calm down and get some sleep during my second test. That did the trick.....i slept much better and was found to have a very mild case of sleep apnea and no need for the CPAP.
My husband had one done a few weeks ago they did his in 2 parts the results from the first night determined if he had to go a second night and he did he had 596 episodes of apnes in less than 4 hours of sleep he only had 15 min of REM. the second night they put him on the Cpap.
but they told him the 2nd day what he did the first night.
I hope you find out soon.

It is the pits doing those studies. I as hooked up to all kinds of machines for my 1st night. They just had monitors on me. They confirmed I had it and said I would have to come back for a 2nd night of testing and we would try out different settings and masks. That was a joy. They had to wake me up in the middle of the night to switch out masks. I ultimately changed masks again when I got the machine at home it takes sometime getting used to the air blowing in your nose non stop LOL.
I have to say this machine doesn't make me more awake if anything I am more tired. I had this thing and pray after surgery I won't have to use it again.

Thanks all. I won't get the results for about 10 days, and they go right to the doctor. The tech couldn't tell me anything. The waiting is just annoying. Plus had another fun night of close to no sleep AND now a headache, just not as severe as yesterday's.
I know I should take it in stride and wait for the results. The surgeon said if I have sleep apnea it won't be a problem getting approved for surgery. So it's just more time for me to wait.

OK, that smiley just made me crack up, so that's something!
I'll keep you all posted!

Yep.....I went the first time and got all hooked up and this cement crap in my hair(eikkkk) and then came back another time (after they determined I stop breathing every 2 minutes when I am in deep sleep) and the 2nd time; they put the mask on me; took forever for me to not feel like I had NO air at all; I have sleep apnea and my CPAP is 14 pounds of pressure. Funny thing is I feel like I need that air to be able to breathe. Maybe it's mental on my part; because I know I stop breathing.
