Hi, what a great post! I luv the part about you can't change what you don't acknowledge. I can see how it so easy the further out you get to slip up & depending on when you decide to change one can slip right back to pre op weight. So glad you came to post & remind people that the struggle is real, even at 10 years out.

Come back & post when you can, for me coming on here on a regular helps me to keep myself in check & if I can help other people, all the better.

I totally forgot about that movie, it is funny seeing these guys when they were so young.

Thank you! ? I will definitely come back, because it does always help to meet people who are living the lifestyle too. We are all in this together!

Thank you for your post. I have found that it's easy to "forget" the rules and get complacent, and then the regain happens. Everyday is a challenge, but we can do this! Good luck.

Yes, we definitely can. I find that it just takes paying attention! If I don't have a plan for the day, I just eat whatever comes my way. Not good! I'm feeling good, back on track, lost two pounds this week!

thanks for the encouraging words!

I regained about 90 lbs and I'm down 45. It's possible to do it. The things I do

  • abstain from al trigger foods (flour sugar peanut butter, nuts, popcorn, etc)
  • follow a set, non negotiable food plan that includes 3 meals and 1 snack. I do not touch food any other time.
  • Commit my food the night before - if I can plan out an appropriate meal plan based on my nutritional vs emotional needs, I do 100x better. Making choices when I'm stressed is a disaster.
  • Using all my coping skills to do with the causes and conditions of my compulsive eating - learning to deal with the emotions rather than eat.
  • Enjoy and appreciate the peace and serenity I have around food after following these guides. I live in gratitude daily and it makes a huge difference in my life.

What a great strategy! I am always a hot mess without a plan. I'll resort to making trips to the vending machine at work if I don't have some good food with me.

Thanks for sharing your method!

Sounds like they need to remove that vending machine!      (or at least stock some "healthy alternatives" in it) ..

Yes, I would love it if they would do that! Like some healthy beef jerky or some fruit. I'm now just bringing my own snacks so I am not tempted as easily. :)

We have a small shop that opened near where I live a couple of years ago ..  they only sell all kinds of beef jerky.  I haven't been in there yet to see what they have, but plan to soon ..

I Steph,

I kept my weight off over 10 years and then went through a personal loss and ate my way from the 120's to 180.  I have lost almost 30 pounds of it and working on the last 30.  I have a great list of steps getting back to the basics I can share with you if you like?

You have come to the right place and we are all here for you
