How's your restriction?

For me, I'm pretty tight. Ok I had gutter thoughts for a quick second, lol. Sometimes I look on the menu thread on a different forum & am amazed about how much people can eat years out. So I'm wondering if most people still retain most of their restriction even years later.

I already know newbies will still have their restriction. I'm just curious about those further along.

I CAN eat quite a lot of food, but I try to avoid it. Some days though, my pouch seems like a bottomless pit...and that's avoiding slider foods.

I've never understood how random small pouch days vs big pouch days are with me. Some days, I'm pushing my plate away after 4 bites. Other days, I think I could hoover up an entire rotisserie chicken in one sitting.

I woke up in between a memory and a dream...

Haha, hoover up a chicken! Now my imagination is running wild. I've been eating this pot pie, it's small but I still have to eat it in stages. I think it's all that breading & I usually don't eat carbs in the form of bread. Sweets however is a whole other story.

While I still have big and small pouch days, for the most part, I could eat as much as any person who did not have surgery. For me, restriction is less every year.

Because. I can eat, does not mean that I do. But I miss the earlier years when overeating was physically impossible. I still need dense protein to be full on a small amount of food.

I was told when I had my surgery my new sleeve would ultimately hold 8 oz (by weight). I am almost 3 years out, and that is exactly right. I can eat 8 oz, but if I try to eat any more, I'm in pain. I usually try to make my meals 4-6 oz of protein, depending on the day, and the rest fat and good carbs (still Keto), but no more than 8 oz.

I'll have to try that out. I haven't weighed my food since my early days of weight loss.

I was told 8 to 12 ounces is the size of a fully mature pouch. That seems about right to me, but I have never actually tested like you did Cathy H.

I am definitely going to weigh a whole meal and see how that measures up to my pouch size.
