Topic: Hi! Indiana Breast Cancer Survivor here (-:
My name is Shirley and I am hoping to have the RNY done at the very latest, by the first of the year. I am on Medicaid so they make you jump through alot of hoops. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in March of 2004 , had a mastectomy, chemo and radiation. Still have some of the effects of treatment, but getting better everyday. My oncologist is all in favor of me having the surgery because I'm 5 foot 8 and 370lbs and he said that obesity is a risk factor for cancer, especially breast cancer. I'm glad I found this site because it's nice to have somewhere to go to talk with people who know what you have been through and what you are going through. Everyone have a great evening.

Topic: Hi, a newbie for cancer survivor board
Hi, Am I the first member to this board? I am looking foward to my Lap Band surgery set on July 20, 2005. Also, I am A Warrior against the "BEAST" Malignant Melanoma. I had it last year & had surgery & biopsy on 2 nodes underarm/right side & remove MM on my right forearm on Sept. 3, 2004 at MD Anderson in Houston. I still go to MDA every 3 months for follow-ups. The result of biopsy on nodes is clear. In March of 2005 I had Lymphedema on my right arm, swollen & very painful! Soon will have the custom made sleeve for it! Patti Broussard

Creating your own post - how to use emoticons

Emoticons associated with your post's title

One emoticon may be associated with your post's title. (We currently do not support embedding emoticons in post titles; the emoticon image you select to go with your post will appear to the left of the post's title.) To select an emoticon image to go with your post title, click the down-arrow marked Title Images to the left of the area where you will type your post. A menu of images should appear; click on one to make it the title image of your post. The image you have selected will appear outlined in red in the Title Images menu.

Emoticons inserted into your post

As many emoticons as you like may be inserted into the body of your post. To view the available emoticons which you may insert, click the down-arrow marked Message Emoticons to the left of the area where you type your post. You will see a list of textual representations of emoticons and their corresponding emoticon images. To insert an image into your post, type the corresponding text. For example, to include this image :-) in your post, you'd type :-), and to include this one  you'd type .
