Music suggestions

I'm looking for some training music, but I can't do techno or dance.
It has to be either a driving kind of rock or even a movie soundtrack.
I'm thinking of things like Rocky, TopGun etc for the movie soundtrack type stuff.
For the rock I'm thinking AC/DC, Metallica, Nirvana, KiddRock, those kinds of songs.
I'm trying to put together about 3 hours worth of music to get me through my training runs.
I even have captured some of the sound files from Ironman events for inspiration.

I'm terrible with remembering song titles, so any recommendations you can make would be appreciated.

Thanks

Scott

I've been listening to a band based out of Marin County.  You might have heard of them...."Chickenfoot" is their name.  Band consists of: Sammy Hagar, Joe Satriani, Michael Anthony, and Chad Smith.  Their album rocks.  Check them out.

A few years ago ESPN put out a CD called "Jock Rock" that played music from sporting events - everything from Hockey to Baseball to Football.  There is even a Jock Rock II.  You can get it on Amazon - I'm not sure if you can get it on iTunes.  That's the stuff I use for long beach runs...

Good Luck with your training, Scott.

All of that good music in there Scott, and you had to add Daughtry.

I actually have some of those on my list.  It looks like a good play list.

Thanks for sharing, I'm going to have to check out some of the songs I don't have.

Appreciate it.

If I could figure out how, I'd send you my iPod playlist.  Lots you might not like, but some are good.

I have some Bryan Adams (Summer of '69, Kids Wanna Rock), Journey (Be Good to Yourself), ZZ Top (Gimme All Your Lovin', Sharp Dressed Man, Legs), Sugarland (Down in Mississippi, It Happens, Mean Girls), John Michael Montgomery (Sold, Be My Baby Tonight).

Lots of others also, but these are some of the faster-paced songs I have.

I like a lot of that music Linn, and I have a lot of it myself, but I was thinking of putting together a play list of really hard music or some really hard rap.  Something that has a pounding beat.

I almost never hear the music when I run anyhow, but I do hear the bass or drums.
That's why I was thinking of Rap music, or Metal/hard rock.

I like to run to American Idiot by Green Day.

I'm bad about remembering songs too. I just use my iPod and FF through the too slow songs and then don't remember which ones were good to make a playlist later.

I'm lame.

I am convinced that Linkin Park helps me run faster - LOL!!  I have all three of their albums on my ipod.  I also like to listen to Stone Temple Pilots, Green Day, Staind, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Foo Fighters during my long runs.

I think the right training music makes all the difference!!
