So happy.  I completed my first 5K yesterday!  I came in at 34 minutes.  I know alot of you are running 10k's, half marathons, and marathons.  I think you all are awesome!  You inspired me to believe in myself.  This is the first step of bigger things to come!  But a huge step.  6 months ago today I was sitting in an ICU bed, 1 year ago today I was sitting on the couch for Thanksgiving gaining more weight.  This Thanksgiving I was moving and losing, and I feel like a new and improved version.  I love it!   I think I am hooked.

Everyone warned me, don't get too excited.  But I still did.  At the 1 mile marker, I realized crap I feel like I ran two miles.  So I had to back it down.  Then before I knew it they said 3 miles and I could see the finish line.  So I sprinted the last 1/4 mile or however far that was.  I was dissapointed that I couldn't have really pu**** for the whole last mile, I probably could have shaved off 30 seconds.  BUT I learned and I accomplished something that I never thought I would be able to do.

But now I am starting to dream big!  If you can dream it, you can achieve it right?!  :)

Thank you all for your support.  :D

Congratulations!  That first 5K is truly the spark that ignites the athlete within each of us.  It's such powerful proof that we can accomplish anything we set our minds to.

Congrats! Great job!

I am wondering where this 5k took place. I lived in Junction City for 7 years and never heard of any races in the area.
