alright.  here's the deal.  when you go to the beach @ ft. wilderness for the first time and see the 1.2 mile swim all laid out before you, don't panic (i did last year).   it just looks really long, once you get in the water, find your rhythm, and you'll be fine. trust in your training, you are ready, and you've done all the work already.  i envy the feeling you're going to have when you run down the finishing chute.

 lol, I was actually thinking about this right before you posted... that I really don't want to see how far 1.2 miles is before I have to swim it :)  

I was looking for your race report from last year to get some more hints.  How early did you get to the parking lot on race day?  I am staying off the park (the cabins were sold out and wild lodge was like 600 bucks a night, so I passed).  A 6:20 start (I think my wave is at 6:48), should I get to parking right at 4:30 or would 5 be ok?

anyway, i always try to get to events early, and it paid off last year as i had a flat i had to deal with on race day.  i'm pretty sure we drove to the magic kingdom (i think) parking lot and took the shuttle bus to transition.  we were on the first bus and there were no lines that early.  i know that the lines going back to the parking lot after the race were so big my family walked the 2 miles or so and i rode my bike back to the car.

Could only manage an 800 M swim, was not feeling well......throat hurt, shoulder hurt, felt dizzy before entering the water. After the 800 I felt the same way I do when I swim a 2000, felt like I was going to drown, and then I sweated profusely on the car ride home. Don't know whats up,so I stopped while I was still somewhat ahead, and will rest the rest of the day and try again tomorrow.

Less shin pain after buying new running shoes and managed my fastest 5k time so far. Ran 4 miles total + 10 mins elliptical. Very productive time in the gym.
