Topic: Love life again
7 1/2 yrs ago had gastric bypass by Dr Felix in Fresno

Just want to say what a wonderful and complete change in my quality of life.  I have had absolutely no problems since the day of surgery and feel it's the best thing I have done in my life.

Dr Felix is just the best and I would recommend him completely.  He just did an excellent job and his staff was fantastic........the whole experience couldn't have gone better.

Stats:
pre-op-
5' 5"  245 lbs

since 2004 thru today:

118 lbs
size 2 jeans
( I have small frame)

I am so healthy, so strong and feel like I did in my 20's altho I'm 62 yrs.  I ride my horses almost every day and I don't mean just walking around.  I train and ride with much younger friends for hours in the deep forest trails with lots of posting while trotting and galloping too.....which keeps me strong and in excellent shape.  I look so much younger than my years that no one believes I'm 62 and I haven't had any surgery or treatments, laser or anything at all in my life.

I do admit to having some skin sags on my arms, legs and stomach, but I don't go to the beach and am single and don't date anymore so that doesn't matter to me anyway.  I have so many good friends and my horses and dog I don't have time or the desire, to be quite honest, for any involvement with men..........just platonic friendships.  Life is simple and beautiful now and I am blissfully happy and greatful every single day for my wonderful new life.

After surgery and losing the weight my self-esteem returned and I was able to leave the thoughtless, emotionally and verbally abusive husband of 20 yrs and go out on my own and move 1500 miles away to this beautiful island among happy positive folks .

I'm living in heaven on earth and so very happy .......and it all started with Dr Felix and my decision to take the big plunge and change my life.  I do my part by eating healthy, which is mostly fruit smoothies with hempseed protein powder (as super green power drink, really)  and different cheeses, and fresh veggies, etc.  I have so much energy I run circles around my much younger girlfriends.  I was always athletic in my younger years and now have that part of my life back.

You can tlive this life too, just follow Dr Felix's advice about how you eat especially during the first few years.........and then you can have occasional treats like some dark chocolate or whatever once in a while .  Actually the sugar free candy ( no aspartame or splenda) is excellent and once your body slowly gets used to it you can have pretty much as much of that as you want.....but don't overdo it or you will be passing gas or have diareah.  You will figure that out and keep it under control after you overdo it , but there is good SF candy out there now if you have a sweet tooth here and there.

I highly recommend the hempseed protein powder and oil as it is probably the best 'super food' out there with everything you need including all the essential fatty acids in abundance, amino acids, etc.

Hope this gives some inspiration to some of you ladies thinking about doing this.  Just be sure you have an EXCELLENT surgeon.........the most important aspect for sure.  I would travel any amount of miles necessary for Dr Felix as I feel he is among the very best in the world, certainly in the top 1%.

Always have love in your heart and live in a positive state of mind and you'll have it all going for you.........best of luck to you all.

Have you gotten your problems with the MGB under control?  I am scheduled for the surgery and I am trying to find people that have had complications so that I can be fully prepared!  Thanks! Renee

I'm not sure if  you remember me, but I used to live above you at Parcwood Apts.  I was hoping you could tell me about your experience as I am thinking of getting the lapband.  Thank you!

Hello, I was reading some old posts and was wondering if you ever went through with the mgb?  I was wondering how it has gone for you and if you have any comments (good or bad) about it.  I am waiting on approval of my packet right now so I figured I would keep researching!  Thank you! Renee
