As of today I have not purchased the new version. If you do end up trying it, please let me know the REAL difference.

I know it's an unpopular belief, but I'm actually with you on this one.  I've studied the digestive system in anatomy class, and even asked my professors, and I can't find any reliable sourcing for this information.

That said, I don't drink after I eat because adding liquid to a full stomach is uncomfortable.  For comfort reasons, I wait 30-60 minutes.

Hi everyone, I'm 3 wks post op and this has been my experience with drinking before/during/after eating. As I learn how to eat with my new pouch, I noticed that became hungry every hour, had me confused. Then I remembered about waiting 30 min after eating. Guys, I'm not starving every hour anymore.

On day 6 and doing well so far. You titrate up the doses so I'm not getting the full thing yet. Down 2 lbs so far. Going to next level tomorrow. My problem is evenings and carbs, so have to see when is the best time to take the shot (morning vs afternoon vs evening) yet. Could get better I think doing it in the afternoon. We'll see.

Does anyone have the premium version of MFP and if so is it worth buying?

Topic: High-protein diet when you have gout

I woke up on 8/12/16 with a sore foot at the base of my second toe but it wasn't too bad and I could walk on it without too much discomfort, it just felt like I had bruised it somehow.

Fast forward 3 sleepless days/nights of elevating it, icing it, taking Aleve and Tylenol.  Foot so swollen now up to the ankle that I can't wear a shoe on it, can't hardly stand to touch it much less trying to walk on it.  Foot has changed color to a deep reddish purple and feels hot on the inside though the skin feels normal temperature and there are pulses present and strong (so unlikely a blood clot).

After 3 days of pretty significant pain,  I gave up trying to diagnose and treat myself and went to my local ER last night.   (I am a retired RN with past experience in Med/Surg and ER.)  I didn't want to be "one of those patients" who run to ER every time they get a hangnail and scream for narcotic pain meds because their pain level is a "10".  By the time I hobbled around getting a shower, getting dressed and walking what seemed like 5 miles from the ER parking lot to the ER, I was struggling to hold back the tears that wanted to spill forth.  Even at this level of pain, I rated my pain level "8".  This was not a "10" level pain that causes you to be inconsolable and undistractable and writhing around unable to be still and quiet and unable to focus on anything except the pain.

After discussing my discharge instructions to follow a "gout diet", most of the items it says I am to avoid are the very things that I should be eating to follow the low-carb, high protein diet I started on when I began this journey.  (I don't have a surgery date and have been denied by the Bariatric Center after my psych evaluation).

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and what dietary changes you were able to make and still stay on your diet plan.

Hello! I'm 3 weeks post op and was the same way as you. I do however take about an hour to drink my protein shake, it's the premier protein sold at Sam's and Costco. Everyday it will get better and better to drink your liquids a little faster

Topic: What to eat? 3wks post op

Hello friends. I'm 3 wks out today. Over the weekend I tried several foods and did very well but don't wanna get tired of eating same thing over and over. Any recommendations besides: egg, mashed potatoes, tuna, yogurt? I trying really hard to drink as much protein as I can, haven't lost any more weight since last week. 13lbs since surgery 3 wks ago.
