Protein and fat keep me full for hours. I add veggies if I have room. Just protein doesn't do it and carbs, sugar, and processed food make me want to eat all day. I feel best doing 16/8 intermittent fasting (no breakfast, I'm not hungry and the research shows you don't need it) combine with low carb, moderate protein and fiber, high fat. I had some regain at five years and am losing it with this approach at almost the same rate as when I first had the sleeve.

I gained 20 after getting on new birth control and letting my cravings go out of control. I basically did protein powder and egg for the week with lots of salad/cukes. Sf jello to curb cravings.

It definitely works and has helped the scale move into the right direction

Yes try the 5-day-meat-test as lady Godiva said. It is about getting back to a protein forward diet and getting the carb monkey off your back. Slowly add back in veggies after the 5 days.

Everyone is different as to what agrees with them at 7 weeks. For me it was always beef. Chicken thighs over breasts- as they are moister. No tuna salad until after 6 months but I could do chicken salad... Still almost 2 years out cold cuts aren't my friend. I couldn't microwave anything- too rubbery.

Make sure it is moist, chew well, small bites....add a little broth, sauce, or condiment if needed.

What have you tried so far for meats?  For me at 7 weeks out I was able to eat 1 scrambled egg and not really any other type of meat except a little white fish.  I didn't start eating beef or chicken until I was 3 months out.  I ate eggs, yogurt, chili, 2 oz of flounder and protein shakes for my first 3 months after my revision.

If you can tolerate tuna, eggs, filet mignon, chicken thighs (no skin) I would start with those.  The five day meat test menus have been updated for newly post op and regain.  Take a look.

I was going to try the 5 day meat test simply because I'm 7 weeks out and have only lost 18 lbs but nothing lately ... What kind of meats are best ?

I would suggest you try the five day meat test.  It is a reset of getting back to the dense proteins that make us all feel full.  It has been helping several people including my husband who did not have WLS lose weight.  He lost 5lbs and 2 1/2 inches around his waist in two weeks.

His energy level is great, he is sleeping so much better, and he loves that he eats only three times a day and feels full.  He is no longer sluggish and always wanting to eat.

Topic: RE: Coffee

My surgery was on June 11th and I enjoy having that one cup too!  Thanks for asking this question.  My doctor said he prefer me to have ice coffee for a while and possibly decaf due to dehydration.  I'm ok with decaf, I just like the warm mug in my hand. ?
