I didn't mean to do it. I am on my pre-op diet. I can have one sensible meal a day. I was out with my family and forgot my protein powder so I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich minus the bun. They served me fries, but of course I wasn't going to eat them. But, then I got to talking and laughing....and I ate the fries! I honestly never thought I was one of those mindless eaters, but there I was, halfway through the French fries before I even realized what I was doing! I am so upset and worried that just wrecked everything.
I only am supposed to do the clear liquid diet for 2 days prior but maybe, due to my mistake, I should do it for the next 3 days to be safe? Should I let my doctor know? I am just beside myself. I cannot believe that I just did that without even thinking about it!
I heard the unjury had one with no flavor I am hoping to get it and mixing it in some food or milk cz I am not liking the protein shakes at all!

I have gotten away from soda in the past for years so I know I can do it!! But it's getting the cravings for it out of my system that is so difficult. It's a true test of my will power!
Premier protein and quest are pretty good. Quest are buy 3 get 1 free at GNC.
Most of the time I use liquid stevia, organic, from Whole Foods - 365 brand. Even for cooking/baking..
You may also try Erythritol- type of SA that most people tolerate very well ..(not me) that SA -sugar alcohol, is suppose to have 0 calories.

I was shocked and amazed when I went to purchase more stevia as I was out. The brand name Truvia and Zing stevia sweeteners.. the very first ingredient in it is SUGAR. Looked at the front again and it says "stevia blend". I did find the Great Value brand that did not have sugar or dextrose in it.
The most common one around here is probably Quest bars. Best protein to calorie ratio and pretty low on carbs (at least the sugary carbs). Pretty good tasting. I recently gave them up as they seem to trigger the nom beast that resides deep in my heart and comes out to eat all in its path.

I have tried a couple brands the first ones i got were cliff builders they have 20 grams of protein and i really liked them. At least i think they are ok to eat not first choice of course. it was suggested to me however that i should watch carbs more so i tried a brand called pure protein with 20 grams of protein and less carbs and i can't even finish one bar i hate them! I was wondering if anyone had some brands that they like that I can try? Figured better to ask then just randomly buy stuff i won't eat.

too much of that gives me headache. To much splenda - I itch like crazy.
I just avoid foods drinks with that. It can be done.
the only one I so far has not issues with is saccharine. The actual studies that show it causes cancer are very old and they could not replicate that in humans. to and that does not cause me to have cravings... I still use that sparingly.
drinks - I drink herbal teas, naturally flavored water (fruit infused) , coffee, and water..
