I found thousands of bariatric recipes on Pinterest. It took me to bariatric blogs I never saw mentioned here or elsewhere, gave me ideas of an entire day's menu or week long menus, as well as planning menus that would work for the rest of my family (husband and daughters 14 and 17 who are not bariatric patients) but still be edible by me and not make me feel left out.
I don't post recipes or meal ideas here. I pin them to my post-surgery board in Pinterest.
It was a tool which was very useful for me in my early days.

Keep on losing!

Pinterest is your friend. There are low carb ideas, insta-pot ideas, meal planning ideas. Get yourself an account and set up some boards, then you can start making lists.
I plan my proteins for the week over the weekend with how I'm going to prepare them for myself and my family. Then I'm not coming home at 6 trying to figure out what the heck to do with the pork chops.
For snacks, I tend to stick with the Sargento Balanced Bites (chesse and nuts, prepackaged), almonds, yogurt, raw veggies with hummus. Sometimes popcorn as a treat.
Best of luck!
I don't think he should go to the Pinterest for this ideas. Rather if he search well here he might get the best solution, isn't it?

I appreciate your efforts here. But I think you should do it slowly and take your time. This will be the best for you. Good luck!

I plan to always take vitamins and supplements. My surgery center has that as a lifelong commitment for having vsg surgery.

I'd recommend asking. Some programs think tomatoes are too acidic. (I did tomato soup on liquids with no problem.)

different surgeons have different pre-op diets. I was allowed tomato juice (and V8) on mine, so I'm guessing it wouldn't hurt you...
So I'm on my last day of my 2 week preop diet. Do you think it is okay to have a homemade broth with watered down tomato juice and beef broth? It was cooked with veggies and beef, but I strained those out. My instructions say chicken, beef and vegetable broth, but didn't know if it was okay with the watered down tomato juice.
I made soups using can broach, fine diced veggies and meat. I could only eat 3-4 oz so I added a 1/2 scoop to unflavored protein to each serving. Mix the powder with water (or milk) then stir it into the (not too hot) soup.
I used Unjury, it has 10 grams protein in 1/2 scoop.
I am going out on a limb and saying that eating less calories combats obesity.
How much broccoli? In order to get enough protein I can have about 1-2 oz of veggies twice a day.
