Question about protien shakes post surgery?

I was wondering if I could poll the post surgery folks and see what types of protien shakes you like post surgery.  I am one of the odd people who enjoy's the optifast shakes so if you liked them and found something similar in taste or better could you let me know.

Thanks,

Tracey

Hi Tracey

Did not do the Opt-trots route LOL

Just wanted to add that your taste buds sometimes change after surgery, so what you like now, may

not be the same taste after surgery, sorry had to warn you.

I tried some of the protein drinks and powders, but after surgery, had a hard time finding ones that I

liked

Take care and you will find ones that you may like, good luck

I use the whey protien powder from Costco. I do miss the optifast. Like you, I enjoyed optifast. I was on them for 3 weeks. Making meals were so easy. I started using the Costco brand 2 years ago when my brother had his surgery.

I like the Premier Protein Ready to Drink Chocolate shakes available at Costco.
I've tried lots of others but this one is the only one that I can stand.

Pure Protein Vanilla Cream Powder - bought mine at Zellers

I don't depend on shakes and the Guelph nutritionist is not really for it, so I only supplement now and again and try to get all my protein from food.

If you like the thickness then the Preimere Protein from Costco. I like the Whey coolers as they are more juice like and I find them more refreshing.

Tracey I used the Costco pre made shakes post op and developed a dislike for them. I have been trying others for the past month and cant stand any so far. I am leaning toward re trying the Costco shakes as our taste changes all the time.

Oh and btw Popeye's allows you to sample so you might want to do that post op and see what agrees with you.

Another non-milky shake like the Whey Coolers is the Weider's Whey Punch at Shoppers Drug Mart, I'm yet to hear from anyone who has tried it that they don't like it!

I love the cholcolate Premier shakes from Costco, but only when I add a bit of milk and decaf coffee to turn it into more of a mocha and thin it out a bit.  I also like the Wieder mango peach powder from Shopper's, and have heard that the Wieder pineapple flavour is good, although I haven't been able to find any in Ottawa.
