Optifast Flavouring Options Please!
I am on day 11 of my 21 days on Optifast. I asked for half chocolate and half vanilla shakes. The chocolate ones are not too bad and actually seem to be tasting better the more time passes. The vanilla ones seem to be getting worse. I have tried to flavour them with mint, banana, and other extracts that I got at the Bulk Barn. They don't seem to really make it any better. I still have a week and a half left and most of my remaining shakes are vanilla. I think it is time to ask for help. Please post any suggestions you have on ways to flavour the vanilla shakes. Thanks everyone.

Do you like coffee? If so, make it with either strong cold coffee or add some instant coffee to it. I really like chai tea so I brewed some extra strong chai tea and let it get cold then I'd use the cold tea instead of water and it was delish. Vanilla is also good with some cinnamon sprinkled in it. Some centres allow cocoa so you could add some cocoa to your vanilla to turn it into chocolate. Just make sure you are allowed to at your centre.

I absolutely second the SF Jello powder. My favourite is also a creamsicle version. I put 10 ice cubes, 1/3 -1/2 of a package of orange Jello and a vanilla Opti. I've tried the strawberry Jello in the same way. It was ok but I definitely preferred to orange. I'm going to give lemon Jello a chance tomorrow. Something tells me that'll be tasty.
I do the chocolate plain with mint flavouring and ice or I do chocolate with 1/3 pk. Cherry Jello and 10 drops of almond extract. It kind of tastes like a chocolate covered cherry. I just "ate" one a few moments ago.
I've got lots of Chai tea. I'm going to steal that idea, too!

I totally ate my chocolate ones first too so i know the feeling! For me, I found that adding vanilla extract made them taste better because it wasnt the gross opti vanilla taste... it was more like real vanilla. Lots of ice too for me I found adding crystal light and jellow wasnt for me--- but I always added extract.
Vanilla has been really hard for me too! I use half a package of Cherry pomegrante crystal lite, a splash of SF cherry davinci, a splash of SF raspberry davinci. A couple of times I even chopped up a sugar free cherry popsicle to add to the ice. I'm not a cherry freak or anything (LOL) it just seemed to be the only flavour I could handle with both types of Opti but especially the vanilla.
I have found the trick for me is this... using my magic bullet, I add the crystal light and syrups first then give it a mix, then I add the Opti, mix it well, then fill to top with ice and mix it really well again. I've been using a spoon for the first half then I can drink it. Somehow mixing between each step gets rid of the chalky feel of the opti - at least for me.
