OT: What do you think?? Is blonde my new colour?? (pic)
You're welcome! It's definitely a blessing what weight loss surgery does for the self esteem - can't wait to get there myself. And you look awesome! I meant to say as well, I like to see women over 45 experiment with hair colour! I work in a salon and always get excited when ladies come in with a plan to do something fun ;)
Woooo hoooo! You are one sassy lady! I bet you have a lot of fun with that colour. Good for you to make your look so fun. I also like short hair. It is waaaay easier to look after IMO. I've had my hair in every different length, from pixie short, to mid-back. I usually settle on chin length, but often get the itch to go short again. Life is too short. Change is good for the soul!
Love love love the cut and definitely love the colour! Maybe add some caramel or honey-coloured low lights (or high lights) for depth? My natural colour is a medium brown and I've been blonde for about ten years, so I know how damaging going blonde can be. And if you've already noticed that your hair is drier and more fragile after you've had surgery then you want to be careful with it so that you don't get too much breakage. But definitely cutting it will help, the other thing you can do is get a purple shampoo - it's a toner, so that helps to keep the brassiness from popping out when you're in the sun. It also means you don't have to do touch-ups as often, unless your roots are super dark and don't blend well. The other thing is mayo hair masks. If you get some Hellman's, the kind with olive oil added, put it all over your head with a shower cap or plastic bag overtop, wrap a warm towel around your head (the warmth helps your hair soak up the oils) and leave it on for about half an hour, that will really help to re-moisturize after bleaching. As long as your hair dresser doesn't make you platinum or white blonde, generally your hair won't burn off, lol :p Just be super careful with it when you're styling, try to stay away from the blowdrier if you can, and give yourself a mayo hair mask every once in awhile. The other thing you can try is those keratin treatments, but they're pricey so if you do go blonde I'd try the mayo mask first :)
