Good morning :)
We went swimming this morning so it was a rush to get everyone ready and out the door lol. My mom came to watch so that was fun. Later my grandparents are coming over for a visit.
Accountability: yesterday was really good. We ended up having a taco salad (no taco for me) last night and I was full until I went to bed.
Post-op four years and two months.
Breakfast - protein shake
Snack - carrots and PB
Lunch - maybe leftover salad
Snack - cheese and pepperettes
Dinner - tbd but something with leftover burgers
Snack - SF pudding
All water and vits.
Hello!! Better late than never!! I had blood work this morning then had to see the surgeon about my knee. Good news
is that it's early onset arthritis and there is nothing for him to do right now. Good because I don't need surgery now. It seems to be behind my knee cap which is good (again ???) because it's not in the weight bearing part of my knee. Good news because I'm over 100 lbs lighter and that is a plus!! Even better news.....the sun is shining ![]()
I played my ball game last night and just couldn't bring myself to get up early and go to the gym. I was so tired and my body just felt heavy. Once I'm up and at 'em now though I'm good. No doubt a winter spent in the gym made my first game so much easier.
B - bacon/egg on a bun (bad choice but I was on the run)
S - skyr, blueberries
L - chicken caesar salad
S - meat stick/cheese
D - tbd (I didn't take anything out because my Trucker won't be home - yes I still need to eat but it's easier to please just me)
Have a great day everyone!!
I know we were told that after surgery have water with all the time and keep sipping all the time (except before, during and after meals, of course)- so I guess that is why :( ..... we can't drink much at one time - I WILL miss that - I'm a huge water drinker, always have been - never understood people who had issues getting it in - that will be one of the things I will mourn! I realize this process is sort of like a period of saying goodbye to a lot of what filled your life before - which is overall, a good thing, I mean it got us to this point, right? Where we are drastically altering our bodies to give us quality of life? I don't drink pop anymore (never drank to excess but always enjoyed a diet pepsi, a few times a week)- as we were told to give it up after our nutrition course. I have weaned myself off other things too. And a lot of what I wont' be able to eat again is fine - no regrets - clearly chocolate, pastries and other stuff like that did me no favours! But will miss my copious amounts of water LOL
I an so excited for you, I just got the call to meet the surgeon June 5th
You will never be able to drink tons of water again. That is one thing I miss- guzzling water.

Thanks so much for your response. I am currently 13 lbs above my lowest weight, but I am 28 pounds away from goal. That hurts to type, lol. But you're right- this will be a lifelong battle for me as well. Keep up the great work :)

does anyone have left over - not expired Opti-fast? I am looking to go back on for two weeks. I am in Toronto.
You Will typically need to get a machine and be using it consistently to be approved for surgery

I had my first class January 3rd and got a surgery date of May 28th. I was told from the beginning that the process with meeting all the different people and satisfying all the insurance requirements could take anywhere from 3- 6 months so I guess I'm at the longer end of that estimate.
