They are looking at what diet plans you have tried. Weigh****chers, working with Dietitian, any types of diets you have tried, worked with a doctor etc... They want you to be able to demonstrate that you have tried to lose weight. Even you you were successful list them all. They also want to see lifestyle changes to show commitment etc. List everything even Atiken, any diet plans in books etc...

I didn't have to do any prior medically supervised diet either. I had a BMI of 44.4, that was all that was needed.

I agree with the other poster, talk to your family doctor. All my PCP had to do was fill out an online form and I was contacted by Humber River Hospital about 3 weeks later to attend the next scheduled info session.

Let me know what time the brunch starts ;). That's the kind of dining room I would like.

Topic: RE: Optifast Question

Hi, rny_ivy:

Just my 2 cents, but make sure you use ALL the Optifast. Consider it a prescription for medicine - which it really is. You need to take it all to ensure a good start to your journey. Even if it tastes awful (I didn't mind it), just plug your nose and get it down you! It's only for a few weeks and you can do it!

Nothing makes me madder than seeing "Optifast For Sale" posts. Like I said, it's a prescription. You wouldn't sell off your arthritis meds, would you? No. You need to fini**** all, just like it's penicillin. (Sorry for being 'preachy' - this just really bothers me.)

Good Luck!!

Topic: RE: Flavourings

When I was on Optifast, I used LorAnn Oils as a flavour booster. They are available at Bulk Barn (usually at the checkout lines). The bottles are very tiny (a literal "dram"), so they do that to prevent theft. They come in many flavours and you don't need to add a lot. Just a few drops gives a huge boost of flavour.

Also, I used to either purchase a small decaf coffee from Tim's and put it in the fridge to chill. Then mix it with the chocolate Optifast and add ice - Iced Coffee! Or freeze some of the coffee into ice cubes and blend them in instead of regular ice - Iced Capp!

Most importantly, use ALL of the Optifast, regardless of how it tastes (some don't like it - I didn't mind it). It's a prescription and needs to be used to begin your journey. If it was 'drink this or you'll die', you'd drink it, right? Same idea. It's only for a few weeks, not a lifetime. You can do it!

Topic: RE: What are you eating/doing this Monday?

Good morning everyone. I was happy to have a sunny weekend and be able to spend some time outside. My friend and I got out for the night on Saturday so yesterday was chores at home which I'd put off. My daughter and I went over and visited my parents for a bit in the afternoon so I didn't get much food prep done. Finally my stitches came out from wisdom tooth extraction so I should be good to go on some more solid foods, yayyy!

QOTD: I'd have to say my living room is where we spend the most time because it's central and cozy but I really like having company and being able to use my dining room..... it's huge, open with a lot of light and has original hardwood floors. Probably on Easter I'll have a brunch and invite all of the family over.

B - greek yogurt

S - egg bite

L - protein shake - because I did no food prep for work

S - turkey pepperette

D - stir-fry of chicken, mushrooms, broccoli

S - SF pudding with skim milk powder

Thanks CC :) it was a labour of love for me -- I did the design and supervised the construction. We had a company do it but I was here every day while they were working. They didn't love that lol. One guy installed the door upside-down and I got that fixed right away ;) It was actually a really fun project for me!!
