80 grams a day when you're not trying is good. So you're usually even higher than that? You must really be malabsorbing it. I sometimes go as high as 130 or 140, though - someone else on here averages around 140 as well - so it's do-able
80 or more grams of protein when I am not trying. I love eggs and dairy. As of today, I am keeping better track and making sure that I am getting 30 grams every 3 hours through meals and/ or snacks for the 14 hours that I am awake each day.
I found your photo by clicking on your name. WOW! Did they do that all in one surgery? What all did you have done. I can tell the arms, tummy, and breast...
How much did they charge you. Thank you
Hi Tammy,
I did have my surgery! I'm very happy with the results! My surgeon was Dr. Joseph Michaels in Bethesda, MD. I can't figure out how to add a pic here, but I did upload one. Maybe you can find it somewhere in my profile? Let me know if you find it.
do you know how many grams of protein you're getting a day? My prealbumin level tanks if I don't average 100 grams or more per day, so I'm still doing one protein shake a day at 3.5 years out - plus I push the protein through the food I eat, too.
Thank you again so much. Yes he tightened muscles. I will post pics soon of what you are asking. I hated looking at my self before. Now I'm so happy. He is amazing .

Hello, since my bypass over 12 years ago, my protein levels sit at 5.8 which is under the lowest normal amount. I eat 6 eggs a day (cholesterol is always low), and lots of dairy, and have recently added more protein shakes. Have you had that issue? Are there tips to help with absorption? I watched a youtube video with Dr. S and he said that he only works on healthy people and you need to have a good protein level

Hello, did you have your surgeries? How did it go? Who was your doctor and could I please see pictures? I am going to book with Dr. Sauceda for October we hope.
Tammy
Hello, I believe that what you are feeling is "normal" for what obese patients experience during their journey of massive weight loss. Everyone is different. The more we think about the things we do not like about our bodies, the more power that we give it and the more we will concentrate on it. A bad cycle if you will. I wear things over my arms almost regardless of how hot it is. I do not like my body. My ass is getting flatter and saggier with every waking day lol. However, I am 48 years old, have had my weight off for 12 or so years, and will finally have the money to fly to Dr. Sauceda this winter and have my surgery.
These are the procedures I will have. I will probably break them up into 3 surgeries.
Facelift
Lower body lift
Upper body lift
Breast reduction and lift
Arm lift
mons reduction
fat injection in my bottom
and lipo where-ever needed.
Will this make me feel better? YES!
Even if you can not afford this now, find a counselor that you work with well. Work on yourself in your heart and mind, exercise, drink lots of water, socialize with family and friends and build a strong support system. Yes, you do not like those areas of your body, right now from what you said I do not feel that you are out of the acceptable area for body issues, however, if you continue and go unchecked, this could get worse.
Take care, reach out if you want.

Hi, I just looked at these photos again and I can not believe that this is the same person. Amazing! Can you post pics of underneath your chin and maybe any scars by the ear. You just look great. Did your doctor tighten the muscles?
