I also got a compression garment at the hospital and then a second one through my PS. That said, I have a STACK of gear in my closet that I doubt I will ever use again. If you're interested PM me and let me know your size. I'm happy to send them to you since some of them were barely used.

Hi Norma - I had a panni while still overweight because I needed a hip replacement and the surgeon was afraid my hanging stomach would pose infection problems. Now my stomach from the waist down is totally flat BUT it looks somewhat odd because I still have skin/fat above the waist. I camouflage with clothing but I thinks it's better to do it at goal weight.
You're agreeing with me?? Because that is exactly what I said.
From first hand experience, Dr. Michael's does a great job with scar placement and appearance.

Erin's scars are pretty much impossible to detect even in her pictures where she's purposefully trying to show them off.

I had the surgery at 58, including the side - I think it was called flank - but my incision went from a few inches below my elbow up through my arm pit and the down to about the bottom of my bra, as well breast reconstruction on both sides. There were no muscles involved, so after the first few days, the pain was not intense, but the bandages were on - wrist to arm pit and I could not drive for about 10 days. I had to Uber to my 1 week checkin ($200RoundTrip). Also, I had to fight swelling at my elbow - so very limited computer time and I watched TV with my arms over my head. I was happy to have an electric recliner.

Congrats. I am 2-2.5 years out from surgery with Dr Michaels as I as just as happy. I had breast reconstruction then later thigh lipo with fat transfer. You were showing your scars so people could see - but its wonderful that in normal body position the scars are difficult to detect. Best wishes for continued success with all.

Thanks for the reply.. I wi**** was provided by hospital because then it would be probably covered. The panniculectomy is covered by insurance but i'm paying the difference for the complete LBL out of pocket. I thought it would be pricey but $294. ????
not sure since I was self-pay all the way. I wore a hospital-provided abdominal binder for the first three or four weeks, which I'm sure they charged me for indirectly as part of the package. After that, I was told to get a Spanx (or similar brand) girdle with extra-firm hold, which I wore probably 23 hours a day until I was about three months out (I still wear it, but only 8-12 hours a day now. I could probably stop at this point, but I like wearing it sometimes)
Good morning!!! Trying to get all my ducks in a row for my upcoming lbl in April... just looking into the garment I'll need to wear after surgery and shocked by the price!!!!! ? Does anyone know if it's covered by insurance since the surgery is covered?? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!! Also any suggestions for compression attire after surgery would be great!!
Thank you so much.
