rice starch for spit up?
We started on the Good Start...Aethyn spit up ALL the time...and a lot!! (he had a hard time gaining weight) We tried adding the meds...it didn't help at all so we stopped the meds. Then we switched to the AR...He is doing Much better...still spits up...but nothing like he did before! (now we at least don't have to keep a bib on him) A few weeks ago we tried to switch him back to see if maybe he could tolerate it now that he is a little older....it was a horrible day! He was miserable...we were miserable! For us the Enfamil AR is working out OK! I do notice he doesn't eat as much though...Not sure if that is because of the added rice or not. I think it is trial and error...what works for one baby might not work for another!! Just keep trying until you find something that works for your baby! It is miserable to deal with...just hang in there...and so far today...Aethyn has yet to spit up...so far this is the longest run he has gone without spitting up! Yeah!

Hey Tricia,
Ugh, so sorry Aiden is still suffering (as are you)! DS had colic and GERD and the only formula that slightly *helped* was Alimentum. Rx's weren't even an option for us back then, or I would have really considered it. It was really hard to see him in what seemed like so much discomfort. At his best, he projectile vomited at least once a day and spit up with every bottle. Cereal didn't help, but there's no harm in exhausting all the possibilities first.
Honestly, when he was just over 3 mos, the colic disappeared and the GERD was better too. It seemed his digestive system just needed time to mature. I know that doesn't help you now, but after trying EVERYTHING we could to change, if I had just known that time was the answer, I think I could have tolerated it all a bit better.
I hope you find something that works! I'm here if you need anything.
Hugs,

hey... jayson has it to.. i have him on the AR and he still pukes sometimes.. at times i even put cereal into the ar.. seems to do the trick.... i put a 1 tablespoon per oz when i need to put the cereal... some days are better then others... hes not in pain.. so im not going to give him meds and the dr actually agrees with me.. i actually have to ticken alot of his baby food as well.. .my dr said its a premiee issue... i just dont know when its going to go away.. like you im tired of the laundry.. and puke stained uniforms
sigh...it was a bad day.. he was miserable all day.. so.. went back to just the good start tonight n o rice added...and I will see how he does tomorrow.. its hard to see him in pain.I really think he has gerd..he seems to have the burning.. at least it looks that way to me..so meds probably are needed.. I hate seeing him suffer.. makes me so sad;-(
