Just the last two weeks I have been getting nausous at times and then I have this nasty gross taste in my mouth that will not go away. I just want to gag with that taste and plus everything smells soo nasty to me. How long does this last? I am going on Vacation July 16th thru July 24th to Ocean City Maryland for an entire week!! All I want to do is sleep all day because I feel so sick just smelling stuff and gaggin on my own breath because I have this nasty taste in my mouth. No matter what I do I cannot get rid of that taste either. Any suggestions on how to make things better for me while im away on vacation?

Ah the "joys" of pregnancy...

It really depends, most people feel better by the second trimester... some sooner, some have it the entire time.

Chewing gum and drinking water with lemon helps the bad taste. Ginger (candied, real ginger ale or ginger snaps) help with the nausea.
If you're dehydrated or have an empty stomach, the syptoms get worse, so drink lots of water and snack on protein/carb snack (cheese & crackers, peanut butter, nuts/trailmix) .

Some people find that those sea sickness wrist bands help with the nausea, I didn't find that to be true, but YMMV.

((hugs)) Have a great vacation!

Thanks for the tips i will give them a try. I do drink lots of water..sometimes though water makes me want to gag. I will have to try the ginger ale and see if that helps more than the water. I was thinking that if i was really nausea that i had an empty stomach..my book does say that nausea could be that I need to eat something like crackers or something.

Definitely try something citrusy for the bad taste in your mouth. I liked putting lemon in my water. That really helped with the bad taste. I also chewed gum sometimes, but that makes your tummy juices flow which can make nausea worse (at least it did for me). My bad taste went away by like 10 weeks and the nausea was gone by 12 weeks. Hopefully you can use your vaca to get some rest, but do some fun stuff too!

I am SOOOO with you on this one.  The "sour taste" in my mouth has been my #1 complaint about this pregnancy.  I have tried EVERYTHING to get rid of it, and it won't go away.  I researched online and they said "Lemonade, lemon with water, mint tea, orange juice, pineapple juice, ginger ale, candied ginger...".  Tried 'em all and nothing.  I even brush my teeth like 6 times a day and use mouthwash, and the taste returns 5 minutes later.  UGH!!!  It's so bad, it wakes me up at night and I have to go rinse my mouth out!!

For now, I've resorted to sucking on peppermints and chewing gum ALL DAY.  If you find something that works, PLEASE let me know!!
