20 wk appt & pelvic pressure ???
For the past 3 days, I have had horrible achy pain & pressure in my perineum radiating into my labia. It feels like my cervix is gonna fall out. It's the very worst when I'm on feet. After working 10 hrs on Sunday, I almost couldn't stand it. I started to go upstairs to L&D, but I just took Tylenol & came home to lay down. Has anyone else experienced this ??? I never had anything like this with my first pregnancy & it was a twin pregnancy...
My second issue is more of a concern. I have my 20 wk appt tomorrow with anatomy scan & I still haven't gained any weight. I feel wonderful, I haven't been sick, & I've been eating/drinking really well. I'm hoping & praying baby girl is growing & healthy. My OB told me from the beginning that they would continue to see me as long as baby was growing/progressing, but if problems with growth arise, they will send me to high risk. When they checked @ 12 wks, she measured exactly 12 wks & that's when I was sickly. So, I'm keeping my fingers crossed we are staying on track.
Thanks for listening : ) You guys are the best !!!

no advice on the pressure, I didn't have that until the bitter end. I hope that it goes a way!
Weight gain is a personal thing. My OB told me she was OK if I didn't gain a single pound, even if I lost weight during the pregnancy because I "had it to loose". I know some want you to at least maintain. I was monitored by my regular OB and the perinatologist once a month for a growth scan just to make sure that she was doing OK. How are you doing food wise?
Good luck!

I'm not a big calorie/protein/carb counter, but I'm eating an average of every 2 hours & I feel better than I have in a long time. My OB group said that they were fine even if I only gained 10 pounds the entire pregnancy as long as baby is growing, but they really don't want me losing anymore. I have been maintaining between 150-155 lbs, since I found out I was pregnant. I do have trouble getting in all my fluid. I probably only drink 24-36 oz throughout the day. I could drink more, but then I'm too full to eat. If I try to eat while there's fluid in my pouch, I immediately throw up. This has been a struggle since my surgery, but I am learning how to balance foods & fluids.
Thanks for the reply, Liz

Oh boy - if you are somewhere where it is as hot as it is here in PA you really need to up that fluid intake there missy!! IT's super important now. Remmeber things like protein shakes count as a fluid and a meal. I was told a minimum of 64oz of fluids a day but they wanted me closer to 96. we have a higher risk of dehydration. I know it's hard to get them in though.
I am not much of a counter either. What I would do is track everything I ate and drank for 2-3 days that way I had something to go off of. As long as the baby is growing that's what matters most!

I had that same pressure during my pregnancy this time around- I had to buy a support belt. I got the one at Babie R Us- It has the three seperate pieces. I never did use the across the top of the tummy part, but the other two got me through- I also have an on your feet job, and I could not have made it otherwise. The pressure was so much better. Eventually I got to a point where it couldn't help lift anything up at all, so I stopped using it. I was actually only about 12 weeks when I started having pressure, and my Dr. suggested the support belt. Again, I liked the Babies R Us one because it had not just the simple under the belly piece, but a second wrap around piece which made everything move up better and feel more secure. Good luck though!

I am carrying low, and have had pelvic pressure since about 25 weeks along. It comes and goes. (It is now much more painful/uncomfortable than ever though!)
Mine kind of feels like the tissues surrounding my labia & perineum are swollen and achy. Sometimes it kind of ached up into my vagina.
Resting on my side helps it a lot! As well as taking a warm bath, or putting some cool compresses on the area. I noticed that it gets worse if I stand for too long, sit for too long, or try to hold in my pee for too long.
I honestly didn't know at times how I would make it all the way through with the pressure! But thankfully mine never got too too bad, and I was always able to rest when I needed to. (I do not work outside the home at the moment.)
My sympathies go out to you! I could not imagine being on my feet all day!
