My daughter 12 years ago, I subscribed to "Parenting" magazine. It was a wealth of info coming in the mail every month, and I looked foward to it. I think there is a lot more useful info in there than "Parents" mag. I still have the first one sent to me in my memorabilia box. I think a one year subscribtion was like $17.00. I loved reading the parent bloopers too, made me feel like a normal mom when I read about other's mistakes lol.
