Newbie here! WLS post-op & prego!
Hey everyone, Just introducing myself.. Im new to this particular board on OH. Just found out 2 days ago I am pregnant! (3 at home tests..)
I am 15 months post op, 28 and a mother of a 7 year old girl- Madeline. I go in to see my family dr. on monday to do (yet another) pregnany test, and also a full blood work pannel for my vitamins. I wasn't planning or expecting this, so I wasnt on a pre-natal prior .. uh oh... so little worried... but just trying to remain calm. Ive been on a multivitamin with folic acid in it, and now i got a prenatal and am taking 2 per day. Figure, the more the better...
so hello to all! look forward to the information on here!

Congratulations! You'll be fine with the vitamins. I didn't start my prenatals until I was 10w when I saw my OB for the 1st time because I wanted to double check with him about taking 2x the regular dose. He looked at the brand I was going to take and oked it. I was like you, 16 months post op. You'll be fine. Just make sure that take your calcium citrate (1000mg/day) & your B vitamins (I switched to a Super B Complex & bumped my sublingual B12 to daily instead of 2x/week).
Congratulations again!! I hope you have an awesome pregnancy!

Hi
Congrats! You should be taking more Calcium citrate than the above post mentioned, actually. 1500 is the suggested amount since you had RNY, but you might bump it up to 2000 since you have a little one in there :) Also, add vitamin D3 to help it absorb better, and a pre-nal DHA. Target has a form with no fish or harmful stuff used. Important, since the first few months, the babies brain is made of of fatty substance.
